It’s a busy season in Fortnite as not only has it brought in a whole lot of new crossover characters like Din Djarin and Grogu from The Mandalorian, but video game icons Kratos and Master Chief have also joined in the fight. Even with Agent Jones doing his best to continue his recruitment efforts, Epic has also launched the annual Winterfest event which runs through the holiday season offering new cosmetic rewards.
The popular Battle Royale mode also has gotten a festive makeover by adding lights, snow, and other festive features to the map while the event is currently active. In addition, players can take part in a series of Operation Snowmando challenges during matches to score some XP as well as rewards like cosmetics. Starting today, players can take on a challenge that tasks them with finding and destroying five Crackshot Nutcracker statues hidden around the map.
Thankfully, if players are unable to locate five individual nutcrackers in a match, they can return to the same area in a different match to destroy the same ones. For those who want to attempt this in one individual Fortnite match, here are the locations to look.
Players should drop into the Southeast corner of the map inside the snow region to find an easy three nutcrackers in relative short distance from one another.
- Southeast of Catty Corner is a Snowmando Outpost on the snow covered mountain located there. Two of them can be found on the catwalk decking outside the building. A third can be found inside on the first floor. Plus, players who start here can use the nearby planes to easily and quickly get to the other locations on this list.
- Lazy Lake has a number of nutcracker statues that can be found around the zone including two out front at the main house.
- Retail Row also has a holiday themed shop which has three nutcracker statues. One peeking out of a window and two hiding behind walls inside the store.
While those may be the optimal route to take, other locations around the map also house statues including Salty Towers and Pleasant Park. One popular spot is Holly Hedges. Players dropping here should look for a house with a garage lit up by green and red lights. It has two nutcrackers standing on each side.
While the quest itself isn’t terribly challenging, players will be getting the Snowmando back bling as part of the cosmetic set. It’s essentially a pack worn on the character’s back with snow on it and a little snowman tied around it by a scarf. The back bling joins the extensive list of rewards including a couple of holiday themed skins, weapon wraps, spray point, gliders, pickaxes and more.
Finishing up these holiday themed challenges as well as the new bounties added in the seasonal update should go a long way to helping players continue to level up through the battle pass.
Fortnite is free-to-play for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
