Butterfinger Reveals Custom Xbox Series X Controllers | Game Rant

The official Butterfinger Twitter has been busy with giveaways for Xbox and the upcoming title Halo Infinite. In the last few weeks, Butterfinger has offered trials of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and exclusive Halo Infinite emblems with the purchase of Butterfinger candy bars. Now, Butterfinger is sending out custom Xbox Series X controllers that fit the Butterfinger color scheme.

Butterfinger tweeted the controller design and invited followers to reply to win the exclusive accessory. The controller matches the bright yellow Butterfinger packaging, has a blue circle gradient coming from the bottom left corner, and has the phrase “Game Better With Butterfinger” on the right side. The Xbox Series X controller represents the Butterfinger candy bar well, though it is not filled with layers of crispy peanut butter.

Along with the controller, Butterfinger also launched a Halo-inspired minigame that many streamers got a chance to play on Twitch. Custom Butterfinger controllers may be the first of many gaming products from the candy bar company, as it is getting heavily involved with Xbox and Halo Infinite. Butterfinger also recently sent out a care package to Halo fans that contained the Halo Shadows of Reach book and some “Game Better With Butterfinger” gear.

Exclusive themed controllers have been very popular, with many companies getting involved in the practice. Xbox recently launched a giveaway and revealed custom controllers in collaboration with Disney+ show, The Mandalorian. Xbox released two different controllers, one depicting Grogu, and the other depicting Mando in his signature armor. Many companies are jumping at the chance at collaborating with Xbox, including other famous food brands.

KFC and Taco Bell have also partnered with Microsoft for giveaways. Taco Bell gave away a free Xbox Series X, while KFC announced a giveaway that includes the console and a custom KFC Xbox Controller depicting chicken and the fan-favorite KFC buckets. KFC even revealed a console design during the release window of next-gen consoles that was written off as fake, but was recently confirmed to be a real device powered by Intel that is able to keep chicken warm.

It is highly unlikely that Butterfinger will come out with its own console, but the involvement with Xbox and Halo Infinite points to even more future collaborations. Halo Infinite was intended to release this month, however, the title has been delayed. Halo Infinite is now expected to release Fall 2021, so it will be interesting to see what other Xbox Series X collaborations with Butterfinger occur before it is released.
