Cyberpunk 2077 Clip Shows Just How Much Can Go Wrong | Game Rant

Cyberpunk 2077 is proving that despite a litany of glitches and unpolished content upon launch, Night City can still provide some great entertainment, though not the kind gamers might expect. In a clip posted to Reddit yesterday, Cyberpunk 2077 protagonist V takes a peaceful motorbike ride down a city street until the game decides to spice things up.

Ever since the tumultuous release of Cyberpunk 2077 on December 10, 2020, fans and critics alike have been sharing their experiences with the surprising number of glitches present in the game. Though Cyberpunk 2077 has also received praise for its expansive and detailed depiction of big city life as well as its robust character creation system, glitches like this one are not as few and far between as many gamers would like.

In the clip, V jams out to some tunes on the radio while biking underneath an overpass in what could be the Pacifica or Heywood district. A few seconds later, a car comes flying out of nowhere to land right in the middle of the road. V attempts to dodge the car and look back at the wreckage only to crash into another car and eat some serious concrete after flying off the motorbike and into a street curb. After a hail of bullets from an angry bystander, V goes back to investigate the car that apparently warped in from the cosmos and witnesses a disturbing yet comedic sight.

Though the situation is laughable and really brings out the best one could hope for in a game glitch, it only adds fuel to the fire of complaints leveled against CD Projekt Red for the rather unimpressive debut of Cyberpunk 2077. Sure, games are rarely perfect upon release, and CD Projekt Red hasn’t had historically buggy launches like some game developers. But after years of production and at least 8 years of anticipation (the game was originally announced in 2012), gamers across the globe expected so much more. Those unhappy with their experience in Cyberpunk 2077 are flocking to get refunds.

Yes, Cyberpunk 2077 has had a rocky start. But so did games like No Man’s Sky and Final Fantasy 14. Maybe these games didn’t have the development time that Cyberpunk 2077 had, but after their respective launches and some much needed reworking these games have come to represent some of the finest examples of their respective genres. Cyberpunk 2077 is a landmark title in the realm of tabletop role-playing game to video game transitions. The game has loads of customization and an untold amount of detail to uncover. It will probably never live up to the hype it received for so many years. But with some patches and and a little bit of time, it could be simply another great and immersive RPG.

Cyberpunk 2077 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions coming in 2021.
