The reception to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 has been incredibly positive following the game’s release earlier this year. The game has only continued to grow since it released back in August, with the 2020 edition becoming the fastest growing entry in the entire series’ history.
Now, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is about to get a highly anticipated feature four months after launch. After testing began back in October, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is finally getting full VR support via a free update available to download right now.
The news comes by way of an official post on Microsoft’s Xbox news website. For those wondering which VR headsets will be compatible with the update, players won’t have to worry too much at all. Thankfully, Microsoft worked hard to ensure that all major VR headset units would be compatible with the update at launch. Microsoft specifically lists headsets like the Oculus, Valve, HTC, and a wide range of Windows Mixed Reality headsets.
However, players should absolutely be mindful of the increase in power it will take to run the game in VR. As such, players will probably need to adjust and tweak their performance settings to ensure they get the smoothest possible experience while playing Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 in VR. Of course, there will probably be a lot of Microsoft Flight Simulator players who won’t have access to VR units, considering the game boasts more than two million players as of December 22. Still, the option for those who can take advantage of this immersive hardware is certainly going to give plenty of players a reason to dive back into the beautifully realized world that Microsoft Flight simulator 2020 offers up.
Microsoft Flight Simulator is available on PC, with support for Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X planned for 2021.
