PlayStation Store Launches Major Holiday Sale | Game Rant

For gamers looking to get the most value from their incoming Christmas money, looking at the PlayStation Store would be a wise idea. Sony has launched a huge Holiday Sale that is full of value, as it the PlayStation Store offering major deals on some of 2020’s biggest games.

Announced via a PlayStation Blog post, both European and North American PlayStation users have been provided with the holiday deals. Offering “savings up to 50%” on some of the games included in the sale, everyone on that plays on a Sony system should at least take a glance at the Holiday Sale’s contents. With Canadian gamers being charged sales tax on PS Store purchases come 2021, now would be the perfect time for those in the country to stock up on games.

While PlayStation players will not see Cyberpunk 2077 in the PS Store during the Holiday Sale, plenty of other open world games can be found in the sale’s lineup. Ubisoft games shine particularly bright in the sale, with three of the studio’s big 2020 games getting major deals. The heavily praised PlayStation exclusive Ghost of Tsushima sees a price cut as well.

  • All versions of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla are 25% off. The base copy is $45, with the Gold Edition on sale for $75 and the Ultimate Edition discounted to $90.
  • All version of Watch Dogs Legion are 50% off, with the base game being $30. The Gold and Ultimate Editions are $50 and $60 respectively.
  • Immortals Fenyx Rising gets a 33% price cut. The base game is $40.19, with the Gold Edition marked at $67.
  • Ghost of Tsushima gets a 33% price cut as well, with the game’s base version being $40.19 and the Deluxe Edition costing players $49.69.

Players can snag deals on some more story-focused singleplayer titles as well. Doom Eternal’s deluxe edition gets a discount, allowing players to experience the new Ancient Gods expansions. The award-winning The Last of Us 2 and Final Fantasy 7 Remake also get noticeable price cuts.

  • Doom Eternal gets a 67% price cut, making the base game just under $20 and the Deluxe Edition just under $30.
  • Final Fantasy 7 Remake is half-off, on sale for only $30.
  • The Last of Us 2 sees its Deluxe Edition dropped right below $40, with the base copy priced at $30.
  • Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s Deluxe Edition is 60% off, with the game priced at $28. The game is also part of a triple bundle with Star Wars Squadrons and Star Wars: Battlefront 2, which is on sale for $50.
  • Persona 5 Royal Ultimate Edition is $50, half of its normal price point.
  • Yakuza: Like A Dragon sees its Hero Edition dropped to $48.99.

Numerous offers are available for this year’s sports simulators, seeing the successful FIFA 21 lowered greatly in price. The controversial Madden 21 also gets a price cut, accompanied by the latest versions of NBA 2k and The Show.

  • NBA 2k21 gets a 50% price cut on PS4, making the game $30 on last-gen. PS4’s Mamba Forever Edition gets a 20% drop, making it $80. No price cut is provided for the PS5 version.
  • Madden 21 is 52% off, putting the base game at $28.79. The Holiday Deluxe Edition is less than a dollar more, however, making the $29.59 deal perfect for Ultimate Team fans.
  • FIFA 21 sees the Champions Edition brought down to $31.99, with the Ultimate Edition set at $40.
  • NHL 21 sees multiple deals. The Rewind Bundle is $32.49, the Deluxe Edition is $30.09, and the Great Eight Edition is $35.99.
  • MLB The Show 20’s base version is $10, getting a huge 83% drop. The MVP Edition is $29.59, with the Deluxe Edition being $37.

Lastly, players can snag deals on 2020’s biggest multiplayer titles. If Marvel fans want to take the risk on Marvel’s Avengers so they can play the Kate Bishop DLC, the game can be snagged for cheap right now. Destiny 2: Beyond Light is also discounted, with November’s Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War getting a significant price drop as well.

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War sees its Ultimate Edition lowered to $75, its base version dropped to $45 and its cross-gen bundle set at $55.
  • Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate gets a 30% price drop, with the game now set at $45. The Aftermath DLC can be bought separately for $20.
  • The base version of Marvel’s Avengers is $30, coming in at half its normal price. The Digital Edition is $35 and the Deluxe Edition is $40.
  • Destiny 2: Beyond Light is 25% off, costing players $30 for a limited time. The Season Bundle is $37.49, with the Deluxe Edition just under $60.
  • No Man’s Sky is half-off, with the PS4 and PS5 bundle available for $30.
  • Borderlands 3 is heavily discounted, with the base game now under $20 and the Ultimate Edition priced at $65. The Super Deluxe Edition is $40, and the Next Level Edition is $35.
  • Godfall gets a 20% price cut, with the PS5 game on sale for $52.49. The Ascended Edition is $80, with the Digital Deluxe set to $70.19.

This Holiday Sale is truly massive, with many more games than the ones highlighted above getting a major price cut. Thankfully, players have until January to snag any of the discounted games that they are interested in.

The 2020 Holiday Sale in the PlayStation Store ends on January 9, 2021.
