Like most mobile games, Pokemon GO has an in-app shop full of items that vary in use. Some are essential to gameplay and can be earned through other methods and others are purely aesthetic and are just used to make an avatar stand out. Either way, most trainers won’t pass up an opportunity to get a handful of items for free when the opportunity arises.
Pokemon GO frequently includes free bundles in the shop that trainers can simply click to redeem, but sometimes there are larger bundles of items given away for other occasions. These items are usually redeemed with a promo code for various reasons, so players should be aware of how to cash in the code for the correct items if the opportunity ever comes up for them.
Redeeming promo codes varies a bit in difficulty depending on each trainer’s login method and device of choice. Players who use an Android device have the easiest method, since they can redeem promo codes directly in the app. Apple users, on the other hand, are going to have to head to a web browser to cash in on a promo code, so the process can get a little bit confusing.
For anyone who has a promo code on hand and isn’t quite sure how to turn it into a bundle of items, here are the various methods depending on login method and device…

Log in using the same credentials you use to access your Pokémon GO account.
Enter your offer code.
After successfully redeeming an offer code, a message will display the items added to your inventory.
Offer code redemption on the web is currently unavailable for users with PTC accounts. If you log in using PTC, you can link another login provider to your account and login via that account to redeem your offer code.
In the Map View, tap the Main Menu button.
Tap the Shop button.
At the bottom of the screen, enter the offer code in the text field.
Tap Redeem.
That should be everything players need to redeem a promo code if they are ever lucky enough to find themselves equipped with one. Keep an eye out for future promo opportunities as the Season of Celebration continues!
As trainers continue working through these amazing events and enjoying the early days of the GO Beyond update, they may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters and completing their Pokedex is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
Pokemon GO is available on Android and iOS.
