Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Datamine Reveals Mastercraft Skins

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War‘s first season has provided fans with a lot of content to pore over as the game takes the reins from last year’s COD title, Modern Warfare. Season One has also integrated guns from Black Ops into the battle royale, Warzone. Call of Duty pro NICKMERCS has found a MAC-10 loadout he likes, and fans have started to take to the new weapons. Now, a swath of new information on Season One content has leaked, showing off some Mastercraft weapon skins.

Promoted as a premium cosmetic upgrade, Mastercraft skins in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War are seen as more than just a coat of paint. The detailed, unique looking skins transform the look of a gun, and in a game where there are a wide range of cosmetic bundles to choose from, these Mastercraft skins stand out. Microtransactions can feel like they nickel and dime players for very little in return, but this new datamined information at least gives COD players an idea of what is to come, and whether they should invest.

The information reveals three Mastercraft skins to be featured in Season One of Black Ops Cold War. First is the “ICBRifle,” an AK-47 skin that comes as part of the Rocket Science bundle. The skin transforms the AK, strapping a faux missile to the top of the gun, and includes a rocket booster animation making it look like it might just take off. The Mint Condition bundle features a Mastercraft skin for the AK-74u submachine gun, turning the weapon into a classic kid’s toy. With battery instructions and a speaker on the rear grip, the skin really makes the gun look like a Call of Duty collector’s item. Finally, the Retro Renegade bundle features the “Tape Deck” KSP 45 submachine gun, which features an actual tape deck that plays a few seconds from a couple COD songs.

The Mastercraft bundles come at premium price, and will be going for 2,400 CP ($19.99 USD) each when they are released in the Call of Duty Store. As of yet, none of the bundles has been made available, and there is no information on when they might drop. Fans that were not keen on the Black Ops Cold War weapons when they were first introduced into Warzone might change their tune once these skins are available.

With the leak of the Soap Operator Bundle, there appears to be plenty of content coming down the pipeline for the rest of Season One of Black Ops Cold War.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
