It’s a day nearer to Christmas and New Year’s Day and the Epic Games Store’s Holiday Sale isn’t even halfway over yet. Epic’s offering discounts on dozens of games going as high as 70% off. But even more exciting than the Epic Holiday Sale is the storefront’s continued free game offerings. The 15 Days of Free Games on the Epic Games Store continue through December 23 with a brand new game now available. Day 7 is for city sim manager fans, as today’s free game is Tropico 5.
Haemimont Games’ final Tropico release, Tropico 5, can now be acquired for the outstanding price of free on the Epic Game Store. As with every Tropico game, players will have to build up their island paradise as a modern-era dictator. El Presidente must bring prosperity to their people, whether they like it or not, and along the way struggle against all efforts to usurp their power. All through gameplay systems for research, trade, exploration, and economy.
Like with several other games being offered for free as part of the 15 Days of Free Games, what’s being offered is just the Tropico 5 base game. For those wanting more content, there’s a variety of Tropico 5 DLC that can be purchased separately. In fact, there are more than a dozen DLC packs that can be purchased, with prices ranging from $2-4. DLC content includes things like The Big Cheese scenario, where El Presidente has to create their own artisan cheese brand, and Espionage, which offers a full campaign of defenses against Global Powers.
For those who want even more Tropico, they’re in luck. The release of Tropico 5 as a free game coincides with the release of Tropico 6 on the Epic Games Store. The latest Tropico was previously only available on Steam, but can now be picked up on EGS, too. Further, the game is currently on sale for $24.99, which can be cut to $14.99 with Epic’s free unlimited $10 Holiday Sale coupons.
The Epic Games Store free offering of Tropico 5 won’t be available for long. Those who want to pick up the game for free will have to visit the Epic Games Store today, as it’ll go back to its normal price after 24 hours. That means that Thursday, December 24, at 8:00 AM PT a new game will be offered instead of Tropico 5. Don’t miss out.
Even for Epic Game Store users who may not be too into management sims like Tropico 5, today is just one day of the 15 Days of Free Games. There are still 8 more days of free games to come.
