Cyberpunk 2077 patch fixes save corruption bug, but it won’t fix your corrupted save

Cyberpunk 2077 has received one more update before the holidays.

CD Projekt Red has been steadily rolling out Cyberpunk 2077 patches since the game released. This latest one is available now on PC as well as consoles. As is often the case with these updates, the list of notes is small, as they’re meant to be addressing specific problems.

Hotfix 1.06’s biggest change is that brings a fix for the save file corruption bug on PC which usually happens when the file size exceeds 8MB. The hotfix removes that limit to prevent this from happening in the future, but won’t fix your already-corrupted save.

For PS4 and Xbox One, 1.06 improves memory management to prevent certain cases of crashing. Both PC and consoles also benefit from a fix for the Second Conflict quest that means Dum Dum will no longer go missing from Totentanz entrance.

Cyberpunk 2077 ends the year on sour note. Despite glowing early reviews, the game has been dragged through the mud ever since for its poor performance on PS4 and Xbox One, a state that prompted Sony to pull it off the PlayStation Store, and convinced Microsoft and even GameStop to accept returns and offer refunds.

Despite all this, CD Projekt Red announced this week that the game has sold over 13 million units since launch.
