Overwatch Tell Fans ‘Happy Holidays’ With Impressive Artwork

The Overwatch team may be hard at work on the game’s sequel, but the developers still took the time to celebrate the holidays with the game’s fans. Sharing a series of Overwatch art to the game’s official Twitter, Blizzard gives players another idea of how the game’s heroes celebrate every year.

The first art piece shows members of the game’s cast in a stained-glass art style, with a rare meeting between Overwatch hero Mercy and Talon member Sombra being seen at the top of the art piece. Mei can be seen making snowflakes in the left corner of the image, with a bundled Soldier 76 standing to the right of the scientist and Hanzo impaling a gingerbread cookie behind her. Torbjorn and Junkrat are working on an explosive Reindeer bot, with Roadhog holding a turkey on the right side of the image.

The next image seen in the “Happy Holidays” post shared on the Overwatch Twitter adopts the style seen in Overwatch’s comics. The beloved Overwatch mascot Tracer can be seen at the front of the image in a Christmas sweater, with Reinhardt seated at the table behind her. Torbjorn can be seen in his special Winter Wonderland skin, with the Santaclad Torb positioned over McCree, Ana, and Mei — with the trio sharing drinks. Soldier can be seen at the end of the table, with Support hero Mercy serving the gathering their Christmas dinner.

The third piece is easily the cutest, as it shows a young Overwatch fan staring at a tree covered in ornaments of the game’s heroes. Tracer can be seen making bunny ears over Winston’s head, while Torbjorn and his close friend Reinhardt are posing together on another ornament. McCree, Pharah, and Mercy all get ornaments of their own for the youngster to idolize. One of the presents is covered in D.Va wrapping paper, giving the piece a special touch.

The final Overwatch art includes the most heroes of all, and it sees most of the cast celebrating the holidays as opposed to fighting each other in Winter Brawls. While an ice sculpture of the Overwatch logo in the center of the piece is the most eye-catching thing to see, there are plenty of fun details to catch. From Zenyatta posing with snowballs to Reindeer Orisa positioned on a cliff in the background, fans of the game should have a blast seeing their favorite characters spending time together.

Players looking to enjoy more festive Overwatch content can still play 2020’s Winter Wonderland event. With the event not ending until January 5, fans of the game will be able to keep the holiday spirit alive for just a little bit longer.

Overwatch is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
