Christmas may be over, but the gifts are still coming in. The Epic Games Store giveaway is continuing until the end of the year, with users able to claim one free game each day. The latest Epic Games Store free game has now been revealed, with users able to claim My Time at Portia from now until December 27 at 8:00am PT.
My Time at Portia is a simulation RPG where players essentially have to rebuild civilization, focusing on the city Portia. My Time at Portia players gather resources, build tools, and craft items that can be used to expand the city. RPG elements come into play when players venture in the game’s dungeons, where they encounter enemies to fight. This combination of RPG and simulation saw My Time at Portia earn a somewhat mixed reception from critics, though many were in agreement that the game had a lot of aspects to enjoy, particularly its setting and art style.
Now Epic Games Store users can try My Time at Portia for themselves at minimal risk, as the game is being given away completely for free. If they happen to enjoy My Time at Portia, they can then start looking forward to the sequel, My Time at Sandrock, which is expected to launch in early access in 2021 with a full release scheduled for 2022 across most platforms.
Meanwhile, thanks to a list of Epic Games Store free games for December 2020 leaking online, fans already know what to expect on December 27. Since the list has been 100% accurate so far, it’s an extremely safe bet that the December 27 free game is going to be none other than Night in the Woods. Night in the Woods, for the uninitiated, is an adventure game that first released in 2017. Night in the Woods earned critical acclaim at the time of its release and won numerous awards in the process, so it’s definitely one of the more eye-catching titles being given away for free.
After Night in the Woods is made free on December 27, Epic Games Store users have four more free games to look forward to this year. December 28 will likely bring Stranded Deep, whereas December 29’s free game is likely Solitairica. Then on December 30, Epic Games Store users may be able to get their hands on Torchlight 2, with Jurassic World Evolution following on December 31.
While the Epic Games Store holiday giveaway is nearing its conclusion, that doesn’t mean fans won’t have more free games to look forward to in 2021. The Epic Games Store gives away free games on a regular basis, so fans should have plenty more to look forward to next year.
