With a Stadia release on the horizon, even more players will soon be running and gunning in the game than ever before. Having a stronger piece of gear can be a great way to have an advantage in raids as well as in taking down foes in Conflict Mode. The Eagle Bearer can be a perfect gun to help players have an edge up on the competition!

The Eagle Bearer is an exotic assault rifle that can only be gotten as a drop from Operation Dark Hours. Exotics are the best weapons and equipment available in the game. Exotic denotes the highest tier of rarity which means they all come with three unique talents. Plus they just all have special visual markings as well making them all a flashy way to kill enemies with flair.

One of the most essential things when grinding for exotics is keeping in mind gear scores. The World Tier players are at directly influences the gear score of any exotics. Players may want to grind to higher levels before hunting down the Eagle Bearer so that their efforts will be maximized once it is acquired.

The Eagle Bearer comes with three powerful unique perks:

  • Eagle’s Strike: Eagle Bearer’s accuracy increases as players continuously fire and can go up to 100%. Players that manage to kill with a headshot gain +100% Reload Speed, +35% Damage, and the Tenacity buff for 10 seconds. The strength of Tenacity is increased by 1% for each body shot and 5% for each headshot.
  • Tenacity: 20-80% of the damage players take gets delayed until the buff expires. Delayed damage is reduced for each enemy killed while the buff is active, up to 100% with five kills.
  • Protected Fire: While holstered, players gain a +10% bonus armor while firing another weapon.

The perks of the Eagle Bearer can help it be more accurate at longer ranges than other guns. It can even upstage the Police M4 in terms of distance and accuracy. It is one of the only assault rifles to have a 60 bullet magazine. Other rifles require extended magazines to be able to match this level of firepower.

Managing headshot kills to ramp up accuracy can turn into a snowball effect where players are able to keep racking up kills one after another. With the larger magazine, it’s also easier to keep that finger on the trigger to keep blasting!

The Eagle Bearer also keeps players alive longer thanks to Tenacity. The buff can also help players survive frantic firefights or when backed into a corner. Even when the weapon isn’t in use it’s helping keep players protected, how cool is that? Players can even “become surrounded” on purpose if they are careful just to take advantage of others who may be surprised their ambush isn’t going according to plan.

The only way to get the Eagle Bearer is by completing Operation Dark Force which was the first-ever raid released for Division 2. Teams of eight players have to battle their way through the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport to take down the final boss: a DDP-52 Razorback. With four other bosses along the way, it’s no easy task to complete.

To obtain the Eagle Bearer, players can either receive it as a random drop from one of the raid’s bosses or complete the raid a total of five times. Don’t be fooled — this is not a raid a player can easily grind out to get this exotic weapon. Each boss is incredibly difficult and takes skill and strategy to take down.

Going in with a strategy to take down each boss in the raid will help players not only have a better chance at reaching that five completions mark but also kill bosses who may drop the Eagle Bearer as loot. Here are some basic tips for taking each of them down.

  • Boomer: Max is immune to damage at the beginning of the fight so make sure to focus fire elsewhere, like the shield generator. Don’t let the turrets fall — be sure to keep some players on turret duty. Shoot the red weak spot on his back then jump off the turret to deal damage in a rapid-fire fashion. Don’t let him heal — be sure to fire at the green healing points on his body as well.
  • Dizzy, Ricochet, & Weasel: Split into two teams of four making sure each side has equal firepower and experience. Make sure to keep the orange gas pumped into the room so players won’t have their damage decreased. Defeating Dizzy and Ricochet at the same time makes the fight against Weasel much easier to try to coordinate this if possible.
  • Lucy & Buddy: Focus extra players on Buddy to keep damage levels higher as he can heal himself. Keep Lucy and Buddy’s health bars close to the same levels to avoid the Overcharge mechanic. No one wants to see two bosses possibly back at full health. Keep an eye out for Lucy’s one-hit-kill attack and be sure to take cover before it begins.
  • DDP-52 Razorback Make sure any player with the EMP Pulse skill has it equipped as it can help when drones are deployed during the battle. The Survivalist’s Crossbow can take out vent panels in one hit — use this advantage. Watch out for the elite heavy minigunners and take them out immediately — no one wants the entire team wiped with a missile strike. Don’t forget to wipe out the panels those minigunners tried to activate in the correct order as quickly as possible to avoid another full team wipe.

The players that manage this five times or are lucky with their loot will be the proud owners of the Eagle Bearer. The raid isn’t for the faint of heart but players with good cooperation that can learn its ins and outs won’t regret having this powerful weapon in their arsenal.
