It includes the return of various game modes that have been featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War in the past, along with a playlist making its debut in the game. Starting today, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players can check out 3v3 Gunfight Snipers Only.
3v3 Gunfight Snipers Only is a Gunfight variant that has been featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare numerous times, but this marks the first time that the mode has appeared in Black Ops Cold War. It’s unclear exactly how long 3v3 Gunfight Snipers Only will be in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, so fans of the game mode should be sure to check it out while they can. The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer playlists typically refresh once a week or so, so fans should definitely try to play by next Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the other available multiplayer playlists in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War should be familiar to fans of the game. Face Off, the 3v3 mode on Gunfight maps where players use more than Snipers, is still available. Regular 2v2 Gunfight is available as well, as is the fan favorite Prop Hunt game mode.
Meanwhile, there are two 24/7 playlists in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War for fans to check out as well. The Nuketown Holiday 24/7 playlist is still live in the game, though with the holidays coming to a close, one has to imagine that it will be cycled out sooner rather than later. The other available 24/7 playlist is for Raid, a popular remake of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 map of the same name.
Looking further ahead, Call of Duty players should be able to expect a big update as part of the mid-season refresh. Assuming Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War follows the same pattern as Modern Warfare, mid-season refreshes should come halfway through each season to add more maps, guns, and game modes and tide fans over until the next proper seasonal update.
As for what Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 2 will entail, that remains to be seen. Treyarch has teased that a new Zombies map is coming as part of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 2, but there have been no other details beyond that.
