Cyberpunk 2077: Should You Choose Figoro or Masingo with Delamain

It can often be very difficult to play Cyberpunk 2077, mostly because of the many glitches. However, some of the difficulties arise just by playing the game’s excellent story.

There are a lot of difficult choices to make over the course of Cyberpunk 2077‘s story, and the consequences of them are not known to the player immediately. Often these are done in the heat of the moment, face to face with another character. There’s one set of choices that’s very different than this though, existing in a series of messages between the player and Delamain A.I. It’s a bizarre series of questions, so here’s a quick rundown on Delamain’s “Figoro or Masingo” line of questions.

For those unfamiliar, Delamain is the name of a massive A.I. program of the automated cab service that it oversees. Each Delamain cab is self-driving, with a pleasant A.I. overseeing the cab and keeping riders company. Near the start of the story, one of these cabs will crash the player’s car and Delamain will offer a refund. Obviously it’s hardly necessary with Cyberpunk 2077‘s numerous infinite money tricks, but should players go for the refund, they are asked by Delamain to round up some rogue cabs.

Completing the side quests and sending the cabs back will eventually result in a crisis at Delamain HQ. Turns out the Delamain A.I.s are running amok and the player has a choice to make: set them free, reboot the main A.I. and destroy them, or merge the A.I.s together (if the player has enough Intelligence). Choosing the first option and setting the A.I.s free sees them contact V occasionally afterwards with messages ranging from cryptic and creepy to goofy and fun. One of the stranger ones asks “Figoro or Masingo?” Completing the answer tree that follows is tougher than cracking the Ritualist’s Shard.

As of this article, it seems there are multiple “correct” answer strings. The above video shows the player taking the third answer each time, resulting in the message “in the end, we are victorious. We will vanquish them one by one.” However, other players have reported other combinations leading to the same result. One player has it summed up thusly:

Figoro – Pick no fire options and only 1 water/ice option.

Masingo – Pick no water/ice options and only 1 fire option.

Mom – Pick subsequently opposing elements or “I Don’t care, I Don’t know, Leave them alone.”

Other options result in the message “I have failed.” Regardless of what players think of the entire Delamain questline, it’s definitely one of Cyberpunk 2077‘s most fascinating. There’s not even an indication of which Delamain A.I. sends this, though it’s probably Celeste (who is obsessed with flamingos).

Sadly, no matter which answers players give, it looks like it doesn’t matter. As of this writing there is no indication that answering one way or the other changes the world or gives any reward or punishment. It’s just a fun little interaction. If this is the sort of thing one enjoys, they should consider letting the A.I.s roam free when completing Don’t Lose Your Mind.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, and later on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
