Call of Duty: Warzone players are quick to share what they like and dislike about the battle royale game, with a consistent complaint being the removal of popular playlists from the rotation. Unfortunately, this has happened once again, and Call of Duty: Warzone players are sharing how upset they are about the decision.
Call of Duty: Warzone fans have been dealing with a frustrating new meta, making Rebirth Island’s respawns and fast-paced gameplay a major plus. While the MAC-10 and DMR are still prevalent on the small location, being able to automatically respawn after death has helped some players find enjoyment in the game despite the prevalence of the two overpowered guns. However, the Rebirth Island playlist has already been changed, leading to many players voicing their disappointment.
The original version of Rebirth Island saw teams of three duking it out on the re-skinned version of Alcatraz, with players warming up to the location over the last few days. However, that has since been changed, with players now grouped into teams of four. Making the gameplay even more hectic, some players feel that the mode’s spark has been lost with the player addition, as Redditor kayra551 made a popular thread detailing the problems with “the new casual game mode.”
Kayra551 was quick to point out that they had just “started to enjoy the game again” prior to the change, finding plenty of enjoyment in the gameplay loop of Rebirth Trios and “rack[ing] up some wins.” However, the mode has since been changed to quads, with Rebirth trios removed entirely. The player’s big issue with the decision seems to be related to Call of Duty: Warzone’s gulag, however, as the introduction of the mechanic completely removes the mode’s unique respawn feature. Numerous players were in agreement with the complaints, with others commenting on the issue as a whole.
The post’s top comment from a user named JukeyStrongman reads “getting tired of this game getting rid of the good game modes.” A follow-up post from Kapowpow reads “permanent Zombies Royale,” with Redditor goshfatherLA saying that “Zombie Royale was the most fun I’ve had in a video game was a kid.” The Halloween-themed Zombie Royale mode saw Call of Duty: Warzone players becoming Zombies when killed, hunting down players for a chance to regain life. However, like Respawn trios, the mode was swapped out despite its popularity.
Many players hoped that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s integration with Call of Duty: Warzone would be the end of playlist removal, but apparently that is not the case. Hopefully, an option for Rebirth trios is added back to the game soon, as players clearly want to see the traditional Rebirth Island experience back in the game.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
