Good Old Games, better known as GOG.com, is currently offering a AAA title entirely free as part of its latest sale. GOG plans to let players download the title for free until next year.
This latest giveaway caps off GOG’s 2020 winter sale, which offers discounts on thousands of different video games. The digital storefront began its sale on December 16 and plans to keep the promotion going until January 4. However, the free game is only available for the next 48 hours, so gamers will need to act fast. As for what the free game in question is, it’s none other than Metro: Last Light Redux.
Originally released as Metro: Last Light for PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2013, developer 4A Games updated the game’s engine for a PS4 and Xbox One Redux version a year later. Last Light Redux serves as a direct sequel to the well-known Metro 2033, and takes place in post-apocalyptic Russia. The title can be classified primarily as a first-person shooter, with plenty of elements of survival horror and stealth. It should also be noted that Metro: Last Light Redux includes all four DLC packs.
4A has been on a roll as of late when it comes to the Metro series. In addition to Last Light Redux being offered free on GOG.com, the game has become available this year on Stadia and Switch, a first for the series on both platforms. In addition to that, Last Light’s sequel Metro Exodus is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X with several next-gen enhancements.
For gamers who have yet to get into the popular series, Metro: Last Light Redux can function as a jumping-in point. Plus, it’s pretty hard for someone to argue against getting a free video game.
Metro: Last Light Redux is available for PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One.
