Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has had no shortage of bugs and glitches thus far, though the latest issue discovered may be the most confusing of all. One Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fan managed to join a lobby of completely invisible players, with the person recording the clip being equally hard to see.
Call of Duty: Warzone’s invisibility glitch saw a recent removal of attack helicopters from the battle royale mode. Players were able to crash the new vehicle to get an unfair advantage over the competition, going completely transparent after exiting the helicopters. It seems like the same thing is now happening within lobbies of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War as well, though it is not quite as advantageous as the version used by Call of Duty: Warzone cheaters.
For starters, there is no known way to trigger the invisibility, giving players no way of consistently exploiting the glitch. Beyond that, though, the bug is not something that impacts only one player. As discovered by Reddit user ImaTurtleMan while playing in the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War playlist Nuketown 24/7, the entire lobby is invisible — including ImaTurtleMan himself. Only held guns can be seen, with players tracking down one another via the bright camos on their weaponry.
Confused by the glitch, ImaTurtleMan tries to swap his weapon from the QBZ-83 Assault Rifle to the Milano 821, hoping that the loadout change will fix his problem. Killing himself via a Semtex to force a respawn, no limbs can be seen falling off the invisible player. Only leaving behind a pool of blood where he dropped the grenade, ImaTurtleMan respawns, finding that he is still plagued by the equally funny and frustrating glitch.
The fan of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War reloads their weapon, though no hands are seen swapping out the magazines. It seems like all players in the lobby are stuck being ghost-like figures for the duration of the match, though the problems do not end there. The bizarre clip shows that other aspects of the match are off as well, such as no announcer warning of streaks and no calling cards being displayed when one is called in. Beyond that, the kill-feed shows players being killed by nothing, with a blank space accompanying the spot where a weapon is usually seen.
With Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans recently sharing complaints about Double XP tokens as well, the game is clearly still in need of a few changes and fixes. Hopefully, an update comes soon, as fans would surely love to enjoy the game without occasionally needing to deal with odd, invisible lobbies.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
