Pokemon GO: All Field Research Tasks and Rewards (January 2021)

The new year is here, which means there are a load of new events, activities, and rewards coming to Pokemon GO. In addition to the New Year’s event in the mobile AR game, January 2021 is also bringing the usual new monthly cycle of Raid Bosses, Field Research breakthroughs, and some new tasks and rewards for trainers to track down on a daily basis.

Players will likely be busy running around this month working through the tons of Pokemon GO events that are taking place – or battling the mysterious January Legendary Raid Boss – so there should be lots of playtime to complete daily tasks and work towards those research breakthroughs.

The new field research tasks are available now and players can start picking them up at Pokestops to power through them and earn their daily stamps and the associated rewards. There are some decent rewards up for grabs this month, so players should have plenty of motivation to continue completing tasks even after they’ve earned their daily stamp.

Trainers on the hunt for that complete shiny dex will likely be happy to see that this month’s rewards are jam-packed with Pokemon who have shiny potential. That means that completing as many daily tasks as possible will increase the opportunities for shiny reward encounters. Although shiny Pokemon don’t have any gameplay advantages, they are very popular and many trainers enjoy collecting them in the mobile game.

As trainers continue working through these amazing events and enjoying the early days of the GO Beyond update, they may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters and completing their Pokedex is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
