Cyberpunk 2077 Glitch Lets Players Quickly Move Around Night City Using Bunnyhop Technique

Since it launched at the beginning of December, the highly anticipated open-world RPG, Cyberpunk 2077, has had no shortage of bugs and glitches. While CD Projekt RED continues to work to iron out some of the game’s biggest issues, it hasn’t prevented players from creating montages of the strange and sometimes hilarious glitches and bugs that appear during play sessions. While most of these will likely be patched out with future updates, there’s one glitch in particular that player may want to stick around.

Recently, Cyberpunk 2077 players have discovered a glitch inside of the game that allows them to increase V’s movement speed considerably. Known as the Bunnyhop, it resembles a technique that players have mastered in various other titles, most notably the Quake franchise. Thankfully, performing the glitch is fairly easy to do and with it, players can move faster than cars in Night City.

In order to pull this off, players will first need to purchase the Maneuvering System cyberware mod, which can be found at Octavio’s Clinic in Arroyo, Santo Domingo. While this mod technically allows the player to dodge in midair, players have discovered that it can also be used to dash repeatedly while also gaining speed and momentum. The timing to get this just right is a bit precise but it only requires the player to jump and dash right before hitting the ground.

A YouTuber named Max Dakka took things a step further by combined the Maneuvering System with the Reinforced Tendons to generate extra height. They were able to showcase the effects of this combination by completing a full loop of the Night City Beltway in just 3 minutes and 36 seconds. However, another YouTuber named Waffletaco took on the challenge and managed to significantly improve on that time, finishing the Night City Beltway challenge in under 2 minutes, reaching ridiculous bunny hopping speeds.

As fun as this glitch is and likely a great speedrunning tool, it’s clearly not intended behavior and will likely be patched out in a future update by CD Projekt RED.

While CDPR is aiming to release three massive updates this month through February which should significantly improve the overall experience, the studio also recently announced that it intends to start releasing free DLC very soon. This mirrors what the company did with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, launching weeks worth of free content including alternative outfits for the main characters, new side missions, finisher animations, new game plus, and more. Currently, it’s unknown what CDPR has planned for Cyberpunk 2077, but many assume the content will be similar in scope to The Witcher 3.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions in development.
