Since its launch last month, Cyberpunk 2077 received a very mixed response. Some players expressed admiration for the way the story of V and Night City unfolded while others were annoyed by the many bugs and glitches popping up in Cyberpunk 2077.
Every now and then, there’s an apparent clash between the eye for detail developer CD Projekt Red had and the way development was carried out. That was apparently demonstrated most recently by a Reddit user who noticed a small detail in Cyberpunk 2077 others might have missed.
In a video posted by RiffyO, it appears that when Cyberpunk 2077 main character V is riding a motorcycle, he’s quite aware of his surroundings. That includes the fact that V ducks whenever he comes across an obstacle that requires him tucking his head. While some gamers may have already noticed this little feature, it appears enough people missed it that the post and the accompanying video shot up to the top of the game’s subReddit page.
RiffyO’s post soon amassed hundreds of comments, most of those appreciative of the user pointing out such a subtle detail. Soon, other users posted other things they noticed that were a tribute to the level of detail CD Projekt Red is known for in its previous titles. One user pointed out that V’s head turns when the character passes an object of interest, such as a crime on the street.
Still other Reddit users exclaimed how frustrated they were over CDPR having such an impressive level of detail, like V ducking his head to avoid a collision, but still suffering from cut or rushed content as well as many hilariously bad glitches in Cyberpunk 2077. One poster even joked that they had somehow stumbled into the year 2023, where CD Projekt Red fixed all the glitches, and the game’s Reddit page was full of posts pointing out all its great features instead of its mistakes.
One reason it might have taken nearly a month to find a feature like the one RiffyO found is that riding a motorcycle is one of the rare times in Cyberpunk 2077 when V is seen from third-person. Most of the game’s story is told with the players behind the eyes of its main character. That point of view limits and changes what can be seen by the people holding the controller. However, several mods have been introduced in Cyberpunk 2077 over the last few weeks to try and add the same level of detail to other aspects of the game.
Cyberpunk 2077 is currently available on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions coming in 2021.
