Samsung today (4 January) teased the launch of its next Galaxy flagship lineup next week at an online event themed Welcome to the Everyday Epic.
The Galaxy Unpacked event is scheduled on 14 January.
In a statement, the smartphone giant said mobile technology has taken centre stage as people work from and spend time at home, adding: “The accelerated transition to a mobile-first world brings with it the need for devices that can transform everyday life into an extraordinary experience.”
While Samsung didn’t reveal the specs for the Galaxy S21, Yonhap News Agency, citing industry sources, said the new flagship is expected to come in three sizes, featuring 6.2-inch, 6.7-inch and 6.8-inch displays.
The company also said due to the global Covid-19 (coronavirus) pandemic its CES 2021 press conference would be held virtually on 11 January.
In mid-December, the head of its Mobile Communications unit outlined plans [1] to expand its range of foldable smartphones in 2021, with the goal of making the models more accessible to everyone.
In Q3, Samsung’s global shipments increased 2 per cent year-on-year [2] to 80.2 million units, with the vendor regaining the top spot from Huawei after slipping to second in the previous quarter, data from Canalys showed.
