Paid in Full is a side job in Cyberpunk 2077 that players will receive after completing just a handful of main story missions. It centers around paying off a debt to a very helpful Ripperdoc named Viktor, and the amount of money that is owed is not insignificant. More specifically, players will need to part with a total of 21,000 eddies if they wish to complete Cyberpunk 2077‘s Paid in Full mission, and indeed some fans may wonder if they should take on such a sizable expense.
From a purely pragmatic perspective, there is simply no rush to pay back Viktor in Cyberpunk 2077. While it is true that handing over the eurodollars and completing Paid in Full will net fans some Street Cred and allow them to purchase cybereware from the Ripperdoc, these rewards are certainly not critical in the early stages of the game. In fact, players could opt to never settle their debt with Viktor, as there are not any real repercussions for leaving it outstanding.
That said, there is some nice cyberware in Viktor’s inventory that players may want to pickup as they get further into their playthroughs. For example, this Ripperdoc sells the Epic Kiroshi Optics MK.3, which is one of the best Ocular System implants that is currently in the game. It is certainly possible to beat Cyberpunk 2077 without access to this or any of Vik’s other cyberware, though, and thus completing Paid in Full is really only necessary if a player wants to build the perfect character.
With the minimal gameplay benefits of paying back Viktor established, perhaps it is more important to look at this choice through the lens of roleplaying. Indeed, if a Cyberpunk 2077 player sees their V as a reliable and generous character, then resolving the debt is probably the right move. On the other hand, a V that is selfish might find it easy to leave the Ripperdoc hanging for the entirety of a playthrough without much concern for how it will affect him.
Even if a fan ultimately choses to complete this Cyberpunk 2077 side job for roleplaying reasons, it is still advisable that they put their first eddies toward things like upgrades. Then, when they have established themselves in Night City and money is coming in more consistently, they can think about tossing some over to Vik. Certainly, he will be grateful to receive it whenever it comes, and players should thus not be too worried about making a prompt payment.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions coming in 2021.
