Cyberpunk 2077: Should You Sign the Contract in Where is My Mind?

Where is My Mind is an epilogue mission in Cyberpunk 2077, and it features one last choice. Specifically, players must decide if they will sign a contract and have V’s mind transferred into a chip or if they will refuse to sign and return to Earth. Before making this decision, some Cyberpunk 2077 fans may want to have a better understanding of these two options, and indeed this guide looks to offer exactly that.

To put things simply, this choice in Cyberpunk 2077 really only impacts how players navigate to the game’s closing cinematic and exactly how that cinematic plays out. If a player opts to sign the contract, then they will follow a guard into an operating room and lie down on a chair before the transfer occurs and the screen goes white. Alternatively, fans that refuse will help V collect their bag and then watch as they look down at the Earth from a space station window.

For full clarity, this choice in Where is My Mind does not have an effect on any awarded achievements, and roleplaying is thus the only thing that Cyberpunk 2077 players need to consider when making it. Perhaps some fans will find the idea of archiving V’s mind to be simply untenable, making a refusal of the contract and a return to Earth the only possible option. Conversely, some players will find themselves on the other side of the issue, and they may be happy to sign the document when given the chance.

To note, there is another variable that fans can control in this Cyberpunk 2077 quest, and it revolves around what character is present on the space station. That is, if a player saves Takemura during the Search and Destroy mission from earlier in the game, then he will be the one to present V with the contract in Where is My Mind. If they were not successful in keeping Takemura alive, though, then Anders Hellman will be the one to detail the document.

Furthermore, there is an achievement called The Devil waiting for those players that find Takemura in Where is My Mind, while Hellman’s presence grants nothing in particular. The requirement of saving Takemura makes missing The Devil trophy quite easy, and fans that want to Platinum the game may need to consider a second playthrough. Fortunately, Cyberpunk 2077‘s length is not staggering, which means that going back for this achievement will not be extremely odious.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions coming in 2021.
