New Destiny 2 Quest is Confusing Players | Game Rant

Destiny 2’s new quest, Ascendant Hunter, will unlock the Coup de Grace quest, the final Wrathborn hunt mission that will close out the Season of the Hunt story. Although players were eager to free Crow from Spider’s lair, the in-game experience left players unsatisfied when they saw that the NPC remained trapped even after the quest was completed.

The Ascendant Hunter quest from Destiny 2 starts off with getting lure mods and upgrades, directly from the Crow, who resides inside Spider’s safehouse. From there, players are required to head to the Dreaming City to complete the Coup de Grace quest. After a series of fights and final defeat of the High Celebrant, the player returns to the safehouse, where he or she meets Spider’s congratulations. As thanks, Spider asks the player to ask for anything in the safehouse, to which the player replies for the Crow.

Although reluctantly, Crow is set free by Spider, ending the mission on a positive note with Spider threatening the player to get out of his lair. Unfortunately, players will still see Crow’s NPC standing in the safehouse even after the quest has been completed. Reddit users have marked their disdain for this continuity error, especially since the consistency of the world and the lore are incoherent. Players are unsure if this is either intentional or a bug, but Destiny 2 does have its fair share of bugs, like the Flawless Trials of Osiris rewards.

The exciting final mission at the Dreaming City would have been a great ending, if not for the issue of having Crow remain in Spider’s safehouse at the quest’s final conclusion. Considering that seasonal content and missions now last for over a year as Bungie’s way to reduce FOMO, it’s unsure as to why Bungie has decided to keep Crow in Spider’s lair. Players speculate that Crow will be moved out of the lair in 30 days, when the season finally ends. This makes perfect sense since the Guardian will have to figure out how to safely take Crow to the tower.

Crow staying in Spider’s lair also resembles the rescue of Saint-14, where it required more players to complete the mission before the Exo was finally moved. Regardless, Destiny 2 has a lot to offer after being on Steam in its first year. With that said, hopefully players will see Crow move to the tower once the season comes to a close next month.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
