Pokemon GO’s latest event, the weeklong Unova Celebration, is currently underway. That means that trainers are able to head out and enjoy a number of features and bonuses as they race around completing Unova Battle Raids and working on other tasks and challenges to help fill in any remaining spaces in the Unova section of their Pokedex.
One interesting new feature coming to Pokemon GO for the first time as part of this event is the Collection Challenge. The Unova Collection Challenge tasks players will catching nine specific Pokemon during the event window to unlock some item rewards and progress on the Elite Collector Medal, so most trainers will want to take the time to complete that. To help that effort, players may want to check out exactly which Pokemon are featured in the increased spawn table for this event and which Pokemon can hatch from 5km Eggs this week.
The event has been live for long enough to gather some data and confirm the following lists for both the increased spawn and egg hatching categories. Keep in mind that it is always possible Niantic changes things up mid-event with some surprise additions to either category, but that doesn’t seem too likely this time around. Trainers should be able to rely on these lists to stay accurate until the event wraps up on January 10 at 8:00 p.m. local time…
Snivy
Tepig
Oshawott
Lillipup
Herdier
Blitzle
Roggenrola
Drilbur
Scraggy
Tympole
Venipede
Trubbish
Gothita
Solosis
Ferroseed
Roggenrola
Sewaddle
Petilil
Emolga
Karrablast
Joltik
Elgyem
Shelmet
There’s still more than four full days of the event left, which means that trainers shouldn’t have too much trouble heading out and catching everything they need in order to complete their Collection Challenge and fill in the empty spots in their Unova dex that are currently up for grabs. Obviously trainers may need to spend some resources on additional Incubators and do a lot of walking if they want to take advantage of that tempting 5km Egg pool, so that is one constricting factor to keep in mind. Super Incubators will likely be a popular in-game shop item this week as trainers try to get everything they need from those hatches.
As trainers continue working through these amazing events and enjoying the new era of the GO Beyond update, they may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters and completing their Pokedex is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
