Divinity: Original Sin 2 is filled with nifty tricks and secrets that players can take advantage of. Many players will be tempted to use skills to gain an advantage in combat. Other players will focus on using high-powered weapons. These things are great until players realize the tactical advantage they can gain from various items in the environment.
Items like barrels can be used against enemies. Oil barrels can explode, poison barrels can poison enemies, and water barrels can douse fires. The most powerful of these barrels, however, is not any of these, but the normal barrel.
7 Start With The Right Stats
Barrelmancy is something that takes a little while to start. Players who don’t want to use gift bags to get the magic mirror in Fort Joy will want to start off with the right stats. When creating a character, make sure to put a point into telekinesis. This is a necessity for the build to work right. Strength will also come in handy but it is not a necessity. As for talents, players will be wise to select the Lone Wolf talent if they are playing alone. If they want to work with more than one ally, Executioner will be what they want.
6 Go Through The Ship
Once players create their character, they are going to be starting the story. The ship is a great place to get some items to sell in Fort Joy. Plus, players who chose to increase their character’s strength will be able to carry a bit more. Strength players can grab at least one of the oil or poison barrels on the ship to start off their grand adventure. These barrels are necessary for the build, but players that can’t grab one shouldn’t worry. There will be more to come.
5 Level Up
Players will gain a level once they reach Fort Joy, but it is best to reach level three. At level three, players will get a second talent point. This second talent point should be used to get the Executioner talent if they didn’t when creating their character.
If Executioner was already selected, players can grab the All Skilled Up talent to get an extra civil point to put into telekinesis. The combat point gained from this skill should be placed in Two Handed. This will increase a player’s critical chance multiplier.
4 Get The Teleportation Gloves
This build is called Barrelmancy, but barrels can break. Players who don’t want to take this extra step can easily skip over it. There will be some that prefer to use the traditional barrel. Players who want to take the build a step further can grab the Teleportation Gloves from the quest given by Gawin. Gawin’s quest will have players kill some teleporting crocodiles. Once they have the gloves, they no longer need Gawin unless they want some Aeromancer skills.
3 Get The Unlimited Health Chest
There are a few chests in the game that have unlimited health. One of these chests happens to be near where players finish Gawin’s quest. If player’s ignore the rest of Gawin’s quest, they can just run to the location where Fane is outside of Fort Joy. In this area, there is a chest with unlimited health. Players who grabbed the Teleportation Gloves can teleport the chest out of the waterfall and claim it for themselves.
2 Fill Up The Chest The Smart Way
One of the great features of Divinity 2 is that chests and barrels can be filled with an almost unlimited amount of goods. To do this, take the chest, barrel, or crate and place another crate inside of it. Now that crate can be filled with more crates and so on.
Once whatever item players choose to use is filled up with barrels and crates from around Fort Joy, players will want to fill it with as many heavy items as possible. This means grab paintings, packages, and elemental barrels. These items will increase the weight of the carrying item by an incredible amount and it will only go up from here.
1 Destroy Everyone
Once players have everything set up, enter a battle and destroy everyone in the way. Barrels with weight can cause an insane amount of damage to enemies. All players need to do is use their telekinetic powers to lob their chest or barrel at the enemies. This will end up killing them instantly. As players level up and gain armor they should keep raising their telekinesis to get more range. The Executioner talent will keep them going since it gives players an extra two action points whenever they kill an enemy.
