After poking around in the data of a Dragalia Lost update late last year, there was evidence that a Persona 5 crossover was heading to the mobile title. Today, Nintendo has confirmed characters from Persona 5 Strikers will be part of an upcoming event. The crossover will begin later this month.
In an update video via the Nintendo Mobile YouTube page, Dragalia Lost director Yuki Okada addressed players and provided information on what they can expect from the event. Joker and his fellow Phantom Thieves will join the Prince and the rest of the Halidom through a new adventure. Joker will be one of the playable characters added to the roster, but another character will also join after the completion of quests. It’s unclear which character it will be, but the Dragalia Lost datamine that leaked the event suggests it could be Sofia, a new member of the Phantom Thieves.
The event will incorporate graphic details and animations similar to what will appear in Persona 5 Strikers, including the series’ signature All-Out Attack. Since dragons are an important aspect of gameplay, the Persona Arsene may fulfill that role, but that has not yet been confirmed. The crossover event will release in late January, and more information is expected to drop soon both within and outside Dragalia Lost. The event serves as a promotion for the release of Persona 5 Strikers, which will launch shortly after on February 20.
Persona 5 Strikers is a sequel that takes place six months after the events of Persona 5. While it’s still a role-playing game at heart, instead of traditional turn-based gameplay, it’s more of an action-oriented hack and slack. The story sees the return of most of the Phantom Thieves, who work together to uncover a new mystery that involves people all across Japan. It’s being released as a Nintendo Switch and PS4 title, but Atlus has confirmed Persona 5 Strikers can be played on PS5.
Dragalia Lost is available for Mobile.
