Pokemon GO trainers still have a few days left to enjoy the current Unova Celebration event, which features a ton of exciting bonuses, spawns, and opportunities, but the next big festivity is right around the corner. As the countdown to Pokemon GO Tour: Kanto continues, next week will shift the focus back to the Sinnoh region for a similar weeklong event.
The Sinnoh Celebration week will once again offer Pokemon GO trainers a great opportunity to fill in any missing Pokedex entries from that generation. The event has some great bonuses that span the full week and will also feature increased Sinnoh spawns, Egg Hatches, and Battle Raid bosses. It should be another very busy week for PoGO players, so they may want to start planning ahead now by reviewing their Sinnoh dex and deciding which Pokemon they should prioritize finding during the big event.
The event doesn’t officially start until, Tuesday, January 12, so there’s still lots of time to do some quick research and get ready. Players will want to double check their current dex entries and counter rosters and figure out which Sinnoh region Pokemon are most important to them. Is the priority going to be on filling in Pokedex entries or getting higher IV versions of meta relevant Pokemon? That answer is going to vary from player to player. Either way, here is everything we know so far about the event’s date, bonuses, spawns, and Egg hatches…
Starts Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time and Ends Sunday, January 17, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time
Enjoy event-exclusive Field Research tasks that reward Stardust and lead to encounters with Pokémon such as Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, Cranidos, Shieldon, and Buizel.
Complete the Sinnoh-themed Collection Challenge during the event by catching Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, Cranidos, Shieldon, Combee, Buizel, Shadow Stunky, and Shadow Snover to receive Stardust, a Magnetic Lure, and 15 Ultra Balls. Head on over to the Today View to track your progress!
Up next: Hoenn! An event celebrating the Hoenn region will be happening from Tuesday, January 19, 2021, to Sunday, January 24, 2021. Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to the date!

That should be everything players need to know to get started, but keep in mind that more details may arrive next week as the event actually kicks off. There is very likely going to be another Collection Challenge, so details about exactly which Pokemon are required for that will likely arrive in the coming days as the event approaches.
As trainers continue working through these amazing events and enjoying the new era of the GO Beyond update, they may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters and completing their Pokedex is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
