There are a lot of long games out there that will allow the players to get emerged into the story for hours on end. But The Witcher 3 is one of the longest RPGs. It can take several hundred hours to finish the game. That’s thanks to the large number of quests Geralt, and the player alongside him can take on. Besides the main storyline in which Geralt searches for Ciri, there are also plenty of side quests, Witcher contracts, and treasure hunts.
As a result, the quests vary greatly in their form. Most of them involve Geralt fighting monsters – since it’s his job, after all – but some of them can do without violence, or merely with fighting humans. If the player wants to get a break from all the monster-slaying, they can try some of the more peaceful quests.
10 The Iron Maiden
Geralt can have multiple possible romances in the game. But only one side romance in Skellige, and that’s Jutta. Jutta is a local warrior who has trouble finding a man who would be on her level. If Geralt fights her and wins the duel, she will spend a passionate night with him. Funnily enough, Jutta only agrees to fight Geralt if he’s already built a solid reputation by then. If he didn’t, she might ask him to fight a former suitor of hers, which will lead to some pretty funny dialogues.
9 A Matter Of Life And Death
Speaking of romance-related quests, Geralt can also rekindle his romance with Triss Merigold in this quest. To do that, he needs to kiss her in a labyrinth. But even if he doesn’t, Geralt, and the player alongside him, can enjoy some fun time. He can win rare cards in a Gwent tournament, speak to people he knows, and even loot the tables and add a lot of useful food and drinks to add to his inventory.
8 The Man From Cintra
Another quest that allows Geralt to dress up, let his hair down and have fun is the Blood and Wine main quest The Man from Cintra. Geralt attends a party with the duchess Anna Henrietta. Throughout the evening, he has the option to participate in several games and fun activities – such as throwing paintballs at a canvas, drinking absinthe, or lighting a lantern. It’s true that the quest leads to the discovery of a dead body, but beforehand, it’s fun and light.
7 Open Sesame
While Geralt works on fulfilling Olgierd von Everec’s wishes, he participates in a heist. It’s one of the longest quests in the DLC Hearts of Stone – and it also has many ways how it can go, depending on the player’s choices.
The quest contains both some intense moments as well as funny dialogues. And as a reward, Geralt has the chance to loot the vault and steal a lot of gold, if he gets the chance.
6 Dead Man’s Party
Geralt rarely ever truly relaxes and enjoys an evening free of monster attacks and other disasters. Yet when he accompanies his friend and former flame Shani to her friend’s wedding, he can have a lot of fun. Even though Geralt has to accommodate Vlodimir von Everec’s ghost in his body, he can still end up romancing Shani and briefly rekindling their relationship. The quest offers plenty of hilarious activities for Geralt to do, from chasing pigs to showing off his moves on the dance floor.
5 Reason Of State
King Radovid is one of the most despicable characters of the game. He enjoys torturing people and burning mages. As a result, a group of Geralt’s friends decides to kill Radovid and ask the Witcher for help. The quest is full of tension since Radovid might not fall for the trap Geralt and others lay for him. It includes some fighting Radovid’s men, but in the end, Geralt gets to decide the future of the entire world – by deciding whether he sides with Sigismund Dijkstra or his friends Vernon Roche, Ves, and Thaler.
4 Face Me If You Dare!
Not all The Witcher 3 quests take a lot of time to finish. Some are rather brief but still memorable. Such as when Geralt encounters the knight Ronvid of Small Marsh during his travels. Ronvid will challenge Geralt to a duel to defend the honor of the beautiful Maid Bilberry.
And if Geralt defeats him (which is easy to do), Ronvid will pop up in different places in Novigrad two more times. Each time, he will have a unique set of dialogue and will easily make the player laugh – before Geralt kicks his ass once again.
3 Shock Therapy
Another relatively short but hilarious quest is available in Skellige, near the place where the druid Ermion resides. Geralt will encounter a druid who will ask him to cure his friend – who lost a voice. Geralt then realizes an extensive shock therapy which will lead to an unexpected discovery about the silent druid’s medical condition. No fans of Gwent should miss this quest since Geralt will get a rare Gwent card as a reward for completing it, but even without the prize, it’s still funny and worth doing.
2 Collect ‘Em All
Forget searching for Ciri… It’s completing his collection of Gwent cards that makes for the most difficult quest of the entire game! Geralt has to collect well over a hundred cards to complete the quest. And he can only get some of them in a certain part of the game – such as during the Gwent tournament in the quest A Matter of Life and Death. Finishing the quest takes a lot of time and effort, but the sense of accomplishment is well worth it – at least for all fans of the game in a game!
1 Be It Ever So Humble…
Finally, the best quest to finish the list is none other than the last quest of the game. Once Geralt deals with the Beast of Beauclair in Blood and Wine, and all is said and done, he decides to go to his vineyard. He gets a nice surprise there – a visit from one of his friends. If he romanced either Yennefer or Triss, one of them will show up. If he stayed single, Ciri will come in for a visit. And if Geralt’s single and Ciri died, Geralt’s good old friend Dandelion will visit to cheer Geralt up. Either way, it’s a win and the perfect idyllic ending to Geralt’s long and dangerous journey.
