CD Projekt Red Dev Says Players Have Not ‘Uncovered Everything’ in Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt Red has been in the hot seat as of late. The company, known for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, has been doing major damage control in the aftermath of the release of Cyberpunk 2077. While some of this has consisted of Day One patches, promises for future updates, and free DLC, many players have either returned the game or dropped it entirely upon beating it. One developer, however, reveals there’s still some things in the city to discover.

It has been one month since the release of Cyberpunk 2077. In that month, many players have taken to the streets of Night City, uncovering a plethora of secrets and mysteries alongside tons of bugs and glitches. Despite this, the short length of the main campaign meant a lot of players put it down a few weeks after picking it up.

CDPR developer Pawel Sasko revealed yesterday that, as of now, no one has uncovered everything that was prepared for the game. Although players have already discovered several cameo characters and pop culture references within the sprawling megapolis, the developer claims there are still plenty of secrets to go. According to Sasko, observing this part of the process is something he loves deeply.

As the developer notes, The Witcher 3 was very much the same as Cyberpunk 2077, containing numerous secrets that took years for the gaming community to uncover. With their most recent game, CDPR may not have fully perfected the development process, but they certainly have a hook on leaving small easter eggs and hints for Cyberpunk 2077 players to find.

Sasko notes he’s been taking the 30 days since release to read comments, watch videos, and learn more about what the general playerbase thinks of the game. He notes that everyone is being heard, pointing at the recent patches as proof, but also notes that not everything can be addressed instantly. In any case, the developer appears appreciative of those who have played the game, as he said that it took a lot of heart and dedication.

This might come as a surprise for a lot of players who have implemented mods, exploited game-breaking bugs, and done all but utilized actual quickhacks to enhance the Night City experience. With this announcement, a new wave of players in search of the deeply embedded secrets may be unleashed upon the expansive world of Night City.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions in development.
