Genshin Impact has already started off the new year with some surprise updates. Though Version 1.2 and its Dragonspine region both technically arrived in December of 2020, 2021 has already introduced a new five-star character and several other exciting additions.
Travelers spent the latter parts of December enjoying a special event introduced by the Version 1.2 update, though, a handful of other Genshin Impact events have been in the works since before that time. Most recently, the game kicked off an event focused on a special Treasure-Seeking Seelie, and now players can expect yet another event, “Hypostatic Symphony,” to start in just a few days.
The Genshin Impact Version 1.2 Special Livestream confirmed that the game’s new patch would introduce more than one new in-game event. The three events are now known to be the aforementioned Treasure-Seeking Seelie and Hypostatic Symphony events, along with an eventual Marvelous Merchandise event redux. The ongoing event featuring a special Seelie is called the “Lost Riches” event, and is also introducing mini-seelie pets to Genshin Impact. Hypostatic Symphony, on the other hand, concerns a new sort of enemy and will begin while Lost Riches is occurring.
Per an official post from the game’s developer, miHoYo, Hypostatic Symphony will take place from January 16, 2021, 10:00, until January 31, 2021, 3:59 (server time). The event will feature a new sort of Hypostases dubbed “Pure Hypostases,” and will offer Travelers Primogems when first completed, and a special Genshin Impact namecard upon reaching a particular total score. The only restriction to the event announced thus far is an Adventure Rank (AR) minimum of 20. Only players at or above AR 20 will be able to participate in Hypostatic Symphony.
Based on the announcement’s language, it’s presumed that several different Pure Hypostases will be introduced as enemies, which makes sense given the existence of Geo, Anemo, and Electro Hypostases enemies. Also based upon the post’s language, players can assume that this event (like its sister events from Version 1.2) will consist of a sort of repeatable challenge.
Travelers will likely find themselves encountering these new Pure Hypostases in some sort of timed challenges, and will probably accumulate points by either dealing or avoiding damage, if not by finishing quickly. It seems that once players reach a certain High Score, the event will also reward them with a special commemorative namecard – the first of its kind insofar as event rewards. The namecard is titled “Celebration: Hypostasis,” and it will be an event-exclusive reward, along with other unnamed goods.
Players encountering any of the game’s existing Hypostases might note that these peculiar geometric bosses also feature unique names, a trait shared with the formidable Oceanid, and other Elite Bosses in the game. Bearing this in mind, the new Pure Hypostases may have unique names themselves. Not to mention, players are still unsure of whether or not Hypostatic Symphony will introduce a new type of Hypostasis altogether. That is, will any of these Pure Hypostases feature elements aside from Geo, Anemo, and Electro, the three already represented in-game?
Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for PS5 and Switch.
