Destiny 2 Players Find 2 Hidden Quest Areas at Once in the EDZ

It may be hard to believe, but the first season of Year 4 of Destiny 2 is already coming to a close. As per usual, the annual cycle began with a major expansion and additional seasonal content. Season of the Hunt reacquainted fans with an old nemesis now reborn, and presented them with repeatable missions that could be tailored by the player. There was also a major exotic weapon quest that saw players dive into the ruins of European Dead Zone and reforge Hawkmoon. However, that story certainly isn’t over, as keen eyed fans discover not one, but two hidden rooms that seem to be tied to Hawkmoon, and perhaps another exotic quest.

Hawkmoon is the latest gun to be reprised in Destiny 2, a classic from the first game. Its acquisition was special as players did two unique story missions in some never-before-seen areas of the EDZ. One of the main allures of this questline was the Crow, previously known as Uldren Sov, who kept the Guardian company.

Upon completing the first story mission in the chain, players could inspect a closed off door, which prompted the Crow to state that there is an old broken ship beyond that gate. However, players couldn’t go through there because the Taken had blocked it. After the weekly reset, the gate is suddenly open, and players can walk over to see the ship for themselves.

Except, the ship turns out to be in mint condition to the surprise of both the Guardian and the Crow. More dialogue plays out discussing the possibility of the Traveler blessing the ship with a complete makeover. Players can freely move in and out of this secret room, which curiously makes the ship glitch out for a moment. This could suggest that players weren’t meant to visit this place just yet and that there’s more to this ship’s story.

The second hidden area is in Trostland, the main landing zone of the EDZ. In one of the abandoned buildings near Devrim Kay, a destructible brick wall can be found. With enough damage, Guardians can breach it and discover a long, winding tunnel. The entire passageway is very well lit and doesn’t appear to be unfinished or glitchy at all, a good indication that players were meant to find this place. There are some computers and terminals strewn about the underground shaft, and the community is trying its best to see if they hold any significance.

Both of these peculiar places appear to be dead ends for now, but they hold promise. The season still has a little under a month to go, and there’s speculation about a new exotic quest for either the ship or a randomly rolled Hawkmoon, or at least a story beat to lead into the next season.

Destiny 2 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
