The first season of Year 4 of Destiny 2 is winding down, but there’s still much to discuss. Players have helped the Crow on his duties as a Guardian and as a captive. Then, they hunted down the High Celebrant of Xivu Arath, a powerful commander of the Hive, to deal a crippling blow to the expansionist alien race. Meanwhile, the Dawning was celebrated and Hawkmoon, a treasured Hand Cannon from the first game, was recovered. However, the season is far from over as fans find potential evidence of unreleased exotic quest content in the game.
Every season since Destiny 2: Shadowkeep has introduced three exotic weapons as part of the seasonal content. Thus, fans are assuming that there will be another exotic introduced this season because the two exotics that has been acquired so far are the Duality and Hawkmoon. The latter was obtained via an exotic quest, and keen-eyed fans are searching to uncover another exotic pursuit just like it.
Dedicated players have once again resorted to using glitches to get outside playable zones and see what lies beyond as Bungie usually hides secret areas outside maps. One Reddit user has provided screenshots of a new area in the European Dead Zone, depicting a fully built facility that players have yet to explore through legitimate means. Soon, Guardians might be traveling to the EDZ again to uncover another relic of the past.
Or, this area could be used to acquire randomly rolled Hawkmoons. For those who don’t know, when Bungie reintroduced Hawkmoon, it gave the gun randomized perks, a first for exotic weapons. This meant that the story of Hawkmoon wasn’t over and that the initial quest to obtain the gun was merely the beginning. However, as things stand, there is no way to acquire more Hawkmoons or get randomly rolled versions of the gun. Whatever this area in the EDZ Reservoir is, it could be a repeatable mission space for farming Hawkmoons.
Others have pointed out the Triumphs page for evidence. The community is saying that there has to be another exotic quest this season because the Triumphs page for Season of the Hunt shows two hidden exotic quest Triumphs. These are presumably hidden because the quest in question is a secret that Bungie wants the fans to uncover. This could be indicative of a quest for an unknown exotic, since players are still due a third if history is anything to go by. Or, Bungie has chosen to hide Triumphs related to randomly rolled Hawkmoons.
