Artist Reveals New Elden Ring Concept Art | Game Rant

There are a whole host of fantasy titles lined up for release that have players good and excited. Leading the hype of this upcoming fantasy game renaissance on an almost supernatural level is Elden Ring.

Originally announced at E3 2019, Elden Ring is a title from From Software that has had far, far less revealed about it than most players would like. The hype for the game is huge, made even larger by the frustratingly small amount of details officially revealed about the title. Now players have a little bit more to wonder over, as some new Elden Ring concept art has been revealed by an artist who helped create the first trailer.

Yes, it turns out that the next Elden Ring reveal wasn’t as far as players thought. It’s not a whole lot, but it is certainly intriguing. The art consists of several short gifs and static images of moments from the gifs, each depicting the same thing. A woman with white hair in a white dress is bent over what looks like a well or pedestal, with golden light pouring out from it. She raises what seems to be a smoking rod above her head and slams it into the well/pedestal.

This action causes a huge shockwave of golden light to rush from the well/pedestal. Zoomed out, the shockwave clearly washes across the plateau that the woman is standing on. It looks like the plateau is in the center of a cave or dark forest, with huge trees (or tree-like objects) rising all around. The whole thing is eerie and somewhat beautiful, although neither the woman nor well looks quite right. The well is composed of twisted roots and the woman’s hair is blowing straight back, like it’s being pushed by force from the well. It’s certainly not as freaky as the leaked monster designs, but there’s the feeling that something’s not right.

At this point, players can only speculate as to what this has to do with the story. Signs point to Elden Ring being more like Dark Souls than other From Software titles, which means its story may be similar as well. Perhaps the well is somewhat parallel to the Flame of Dark Souls.

Obviously, this will be fully revealed when Elden Ring is released, although no one is sure when that will be. Elden Ring has been in development for five years, which some see as bad news for From Software’s other potential projects. Still, as recent releases have proved, taking time to ensure a project is well done is very much a good thing.

Elden Ring is in development.
