Immortals Fenyx Rising proved to be a surprising hit with its colorful and fun open world inspired by Greek mythology. A new update released for it recently, setting up the game for an upcoming DLC that will ensure its longevity for some time in 2021.
There’s certainly a lot to do in Immortals Fenyx Rising, from the main story to the side quests and objectives. Some of these take the form of vaults that can be completed for treasures and stat increase resources. One vault in particular, the Path to Erebos, can prove troublesome with its primary and secondary treasures. Here’s a quick guide to successfully walking the Path.
The Path to Erebos is located in Aphrodite’s Garden of all places, not far from Gaia’s Soul tree. It can easily be found by utilizing Immortals Fenyx Rising‘s map revealing mechanic from atop Aphrodite’s statue.
Players will want to prepare properly before entering the Path, since it’s much easier to do with the correct equipment. While Hercules’ strength makes getting the extra chest somewhat easier, it is not completely necessary. Ares’ Wrath can also help, but is not necessary if players have upgraded Wings, which are most important for the Path.
The major obstacle in the Path to Erebos are a series of purple lasers. Each one does seven chunks of health damage, so one or two hits will lay Fenyx low. The first few parts are easy: get a dashing start, then jump over the lasers across the path. Timed properly, players can keep running under the next batch before they lower into place. Keep running straight and it’s a breeze to slip between lasers on either side.
The next checkpoint reveals a very narrow path with lasers across it at regular intervals. Players must jump precisely over the lasers, but the depth can be hard to gauge. Towards the end, two lasers sweep in a wide circle, one high and one low. Wait until the low laser is coming around, then jump over it to clear the last bit of narrow path. Leap to the next platform after the one with the spinning lasers, and the next checkpoint is in sight.
The next path has lasers across all of it like guitar strings. A block slides between them, blocking lasers and creating safe zones. Follow the path and always stay behind the block, shifting left and right as it does.
Next up is a long jump with lasers spaced up and down at regular intervals. Players can jump through it and glide gently to avoid the lasers. Alternatively, players can jump into the abyss to the left of the path and glide along the left wall (keep the wall on Fenyx’s right). Land at the mid point near the green lamp, then do the same thing again to reach the other side, avoiding the lasers entirely.
This is a bit tricky. Hop up to the next checkpoint, then turn around and look at the arch. With a running start and upgraded wings, players can double jump and glide to grab the edge of that arch. Otherwise, Ares’ Wrath can be used as a third jump. Hit the nearby switch to spawn a block. With enough Hercules’ Strength, the block can be lifted and thrown to the far platform with the locked chest. Otherwise, use the Hammer Slam attack to send the chest flying onto the platform (may take a few tries). Use the block to unlock the chest and receive some Armor of Artemis.
Get back to the last checkpoint and hit the button. This activates a laser gauntlet as well as a pillar platform near the start of the level. With the path’s hidden chest behind Fenyx, take a running jump, double jump, and glide through the lasers. Jump with the right timing to avoid the lasers on the ground, then through the first two laser challenges again. Hop on the platform and avoid the lasers as it rises, and boom. Done. The reward is one Zeus’ Lightning.
Immortals Fenyx Rising is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
