Considering the fact that she’s a household name these days, you might be surprised to realize that Gal Gadot only began acting about a decade or so ago. The former Miss Israel and supermodel had some small roles dating back to 2007 but made her first film appearance in 2009.
For the most part, people know Gadot thanks to her iconic role as Wonder Woman in the DCEU movies. Since 2016, she has appeared in four films in that franchise. She has also starred in the Fast and the Furious series and had a handful of surprisingly comedic roles. The ratings on Rotten Tomatoes can help determine her best movie roles.
10 Knight And Day (52%)
One of the earliest films to star Gal Gadot came out in 2010. Knight and Day is mostly remembered because of the leading actors, Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, reuniting nearly a decade after originally teaming up in 2001’s Vanilla Sky.
The plot follows a disgraced spy (Cruise) who runs into a classic car restorer (Diaz), who gets caught up in his attempts to flee from the CIA. Gal Gadot is among the supporting cast as Naomi, a henchwoman. A lot of the film was viewed as being formulaic but the chemistry between Diaz and Cruise was a highlight.
9 Triple 9 (54%)
You might not find another movie more loaded with talent than 2016’s Triple 9. The cast includes Academy Award nominees like Kate Winslet, Woody Harrelson, Casey Affleck and Chiwetel Ejiofor, Emmy nominees like Aaron Paul and Michael K. Williams, and more.
Among them was Gal Gadot, as Elena Vlaslov, sister to Winslet’s Irina. The title of the film comes from the code used when an officer is down and requires immediate assistance. While it was met with decent reviews, Triple 9 is noted for not quite living up to expectations and potential.
8 Wonder Woman: 1984 (60%)
The most recent entry on this list was also possibly the most highly-anticipated. Even with the struggles of the DCEU, Gadot’s Diana Prince is typically beloved and her first solo film was great. This sequel was what everyone wanted on paper and the fact that it kept getting delayed made fans want it even more.
Wonder Woman: 1984 sees Diana battle a co-worker and a businessman who use an ancient artifact to grant everyone wishes that send the world on the brink of destruction. Though not widely-panned, it was a disappointment that suffered from some character issues and from being bloated.
7 Date Night (66%)
Released in 2010, Date Night was another action-comedy, which seems to be a genre where Gal Gadot does great work. The film follows Phil (Steve Carell) and Claire Foster (Tina Fey), a couple stuck in a rut who get thrust into a dangerous situation after using someone else’s name for a dinner reservation.
The supporting cast is filled with great names includes Common, Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, James Franco, Mark Ruffalo, and so many more. Gal Gadot nabbed a smaller role as a woman named Natanya. Date Night got praised for the fun work between Carell and Fey.
6 Fast & Furious 6 (70%)
The first movie in Gal Gadot’s filmography is 2009’s Fast & Furious, where she debuted as Gisele Yashar. She returned for a few sequels afterward, including Fast & Furious 6, which hit theaters in 2013. It continues the increasingly absurd yet fun adventures of Dominic Toretto and his crew.
This installment was especially crucial for Gadot’s Gisele. Her relationship with fan-favorite Han Seoul-Oh is a focal point and by the end of the film, Gisele sacrifices herself to save him. It becomes even sadder when you see that Han still goes on to die shortly after.
5 Between Two Ferns: The Movie (74%)
Between Two Ferns is a web talk show hosted by funnyman Zach Galifianakis. On it, he trades insults and more with the celebrity guests who join him. The series has aired 22 episodes between 2008 and 2018 before a movie version hit Netflix in 2019.
That film follows a similar concept with Galifianakis taking his show on the road to interview more stars. Among those celebrities who appear as themselves are Awkwafina, Brie Larson, John Legend, Hailee Steinfeld, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Gal Gadot. It seemed like an ideal movie for fans of the original show.
4 Fast Five (77%)
After her aforementioned debut in Fast & Furious, Gal Gadot returned to the series at Gisele Yashar for 2011’s Fast Five. For many fans, this was the one that really started the franchise down its current path, putting together a massive team including the arrival of Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs.
This installment sees Dom bring together allies from the past and present, including Gisele, to steal $100 million from a corrupt businessman. The film grossed over $625 million and was praised for how much it embraced the over-the-top fun of the entire series.
3 Furious 7 (81%)
Here’s where things get a little bit tricky for Gal Gadot and the Fast and the Furious franchise. As noted, her character Gisele Yashar perished at the end of Fast & Furious 6 as a way of sacrificing herself for the man she loved. Still, she’s credited as starring in Furious 7.
In the 2015 blockbuster (which grossed a whopping $1.516 billion), Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham), the brother of Owen who was the antagonist in the previous entry, arrives to get revenge on Dom’s team. Gadot is credited despite only appearing in a deleted scene.
2 Ralph Breaks The Internet (88%)
In 2012, Wreck-It Ralph quickly became one of the best and most unique animated films put out by Disney in a long time. Fans were clamoring for a sequel and they got it with 2018’s Ralph Breaks The Internet, which takes the characters on a whole new adventure.
Ralph and Vanellope leave the arcade to enter the internet, which opens up a whole new world for them. The film was lauded for the creative manner in which it displayed the aspects of the web. Gal Gadot lends her voice in it as Shank, a tough NPC racer in an online game who befriends Vanellope.
1 Wonder Woman (93%)
It’s only fitting that Gal Gadot’s most iconic character is also the one with the highest rating. After stealing the show in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Gadot returned as Diana Prince for 2017’s Wonder Woman, directed by the talented Patty Jenkins.
Mostly set during World War I, the film sees Diana leave the Amazon in an attempt to stop the war. Gadot’s charismatic performance was a high point, as were the fish-out-of-water scenes, though the third act was criticized. It remains viewed as one of the DCEU’s best entries.
