PS5 DualSense Faceplates Now Available Online | Game Rant

The PlayStation 5 was meant to be customized. Sony hasn’t outright said such a thing, but that’s the vibe the console’s overall design gives off. It doesn’t help that there’s a video of Sony taking apart the PS5, thus showing that the console’s stark-white plates are easily removable and, by extension, easily replaceable. The PlayStation 5’s accessories, such as its DualSense controller, fall under this logic, too. Several fan-made designs have shown just how stylish one can look with even the most basic colored plates.

Many third-party companies not affiliated with Sony also believe the PS5 and its accessories would look great in various color combinations. They think this so much that despite Sony threatening them with litigation left and right, they’ve continued to try and make different colored plates for PS5 users to buy. One company even dared Sony to sue them for it, which probably isn’t the best business sense considering Sony’s deep pockets, but that’s beside the point.

The latest company to try its hand at PlayStation 5 customization is Decor Evolve. It’s selling different colored DualSense controller plates over on its website of the same name. The plates come in ten colors, and each cost $9.99. The colors PlayStation 5 users can buy include red, orange, gold, rose gold, silver, steel grey, blue, light blue, midnight blue, and purple. At the moment, Decor Evolve has a sale going on, where if users buy two plates, they get 10% off — buy four, and they get 20%.

Anyone looking to pick up some plates from Decor Evolve may want to do so now. Again, Sony is shutting down manufacturers‘ attempts to sell different colored plates of the PS5 and its accessories. With that in mind, there’s no telling how long Decor Evolve will be able to keep its stock before Sony knocks on its door. The company also claims that it may take two to four weeks for orders to make it to their destination and that COVID-19 may delay their arrival for another week or two.

Around the time the PlayStation 5 was released, Sony stated in a PS5 FAQ that it would be releasing different DualSense controller colors in the future. Of course, it didn’t say when exactly this would happen, nor did it mention if the PlayStation 5 itself would have different color variations. Sadly, even if Sony does have plans for it, it certainly isn’t on its list of priorities considering the current trouble with PlayStation 5 stocks. At least there’s the promise of more DualSense colors, though.

The PlayStation 5 is out now.
