Call of Duty: Warzone Glitch Is Causing Players To Freeze In Place Once Again

A frustrating Call of Duty: Warzone glitch has manifested once again, causing problems across the game. This is not the first glitch to make a reappearance since the beginning of Season 1. Call of Duty: Warzone‘s community is waiting to see if the developer will have another quick fix for this persisting problem.

After overcoming the DMR domination and infinite stim glitch resurgence, Call of Duty: Warzone fans have discovered that even loadout drops can be dangerous. This is frustrating due to loadouts now being even more vital to the Warzone experience as the meta enters a new state of flux.

Call of Duty: Warzone loadout crates are causing the game to freeze, resulting in several vital moments of vulnerability for loot-seeking players. Raven Software originally released a fix for this back in December, but now the issue has returned and is steadily becoming a more common occurrence. This glitch appears after a player interacts with a loadout drop. Once they select the crate, the game will pause for several seconds, risking the player’s life for a momentary load time. Considering most Call of Duty: Warzone fans believe that loadouts are almost required for a win, this can be a frustrating battle of risk and reward evaluation.

By design, opening a loadout crate is supposed to be a risky process. Momentary vulnerability is expected, as the crates often spawn in open fields and clear sight lines. Still, to have the crate lock Call of Duty: Warzone on every interaction extends that window of vulnerability by several seconds, pushing the window further than would normally be allowed.

The problem has appeared on Activision’s Trello board and is listed as “Loadout drop: Player is frozen temporarily or until death when looting.” Last status presented the issue as “under investigation” but offers no idea as to when the loadout may be repaired. Players must simply wait until the developer releases a patch or comments on the further evolution of this frustrating bug.

Despite this, many fans are at least relieved that the developers are aware of the issue. Call of Duty: Warzone bugs that have garnered developer attention are usually fixed quickly in upcoming patches. Until then, players will have to weigh in the risk and reward of looting loadout crates as any momentary loadout freeze could instantly ruin a good game for even the most advanced players.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
