Dota 2 ‘Revamped’ Viewer Experience for 2021 Pro Circuit

It looks like fans of the Dota 2 pro scene are getting a bunch of new ways to view matches. Valve reveals all the ways watching the Winter 2021 Dota 2 Pro Circuit is going to get a major revamp.

As a free-to-play MOBA, the game has a healthy community supporting the competitive scene. However, engaging with esports requires an accessible and functional system for watching teams compete. While Valve has ways for viewing the pro scene in-client, the technology is getting an update to improve the experience. With these changes, fans will be able to observe their favorite teams like never before.

First and foremost, a new “Watch” tab is going to be available in the client. This feature provides a complete schedule, with all the current team standings as well. This makes it much easier for viewers to see results and stay interested in live Dota 2 matches. Part of this will give players the option to follow teams, making sure they never miss games. Regardless of being on iOS or Android, Valve is updating the DPC app to enjoy these benefits.

Some fans like to support their favorite teams beyond just watching games, though. And fortunately, there are going to be more ways to do so in the coming weeks. During the Winter 2021 Pro Circuit, purchasable content will become available. These packages include personalized in-game effects, emotes, loading screens, and more. Dota 2 players will be pleased to know that all this extra content is coming from the professional teams themselves. In this way, gamers can support a team’s brand as well as its creative side.

Over time, esports have become a significant part of the gaming industry. And Dota 2 is one of the biggest leagues when it comes to the competitive scene. With such a big footprint, it is nice to see that Valve is working to improve the viewing technology for fans. The features sound like they are going to make keeping up with the Pro Circuit easier than ever. Plus, purchasable content gives fans even more reason to stay in the loop.

Of course, certain followers of the pro scene may take issue with the amount of updates. While the new system sounds great, it remains to be seen whether it will actually be useful or functional. With half of this big update going towards purchasable content, others may be unimpressed with having to shell out extra cash. Especially when teams and tournaments can be dropped anytime. Overall, the revamped viewer experience should provide Dota 2 players with a lot of new ways to watch the professionals compete.
