A major milestone is coming up for Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Season 5 be the first to begin in Halo: The Master Chief Collection since all of the collection’s games were released on PC. Season 4 began on November 16, focusing on Halo 4 content, and after that Halo: Reach launched on November 17 for PC. Season 5 of the Halo: The Master Chief Collection starting January 27 will be a celebration of the full launch of the Halo series across PC and Xbox, and it has content to support the occasion.
In a recently shared Twitter post, the official Halo account detailed its upcoming plans for Season 5. The key detail shared is that Season 5 of Halo: The Master Chief Collection will feature 80 different pieces of armor for players to unlock, either in Halo 3 or the recently released Halo Reach. Players will be able to unlock all of this and more through Season 5 just by playing the game.
The post also confirms that the new season of Halo: The Master Chief Collection will include “brand new weapon skins,” which should pair nicely with the new armor, as well as a new set of Seasonal Challenges. These Seasonal Challenges will allow players to earn four different unique rewards, though the rewards have yet to be revealed.
As expected, the Season 5 content for Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be available across PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Further, Halo: The Master Chief Collection features crossplay after Season 4, which means progression for unlocks will carry over regardless of what platform the player is on. Hopefully, Season 5 will bring even more exciting additions for Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection is available now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
