Three versions of the Nioh titles are set to release early next month on PlayStation 5 and PC with notable improvements. Nioh Remastered – The Complete Edition, Nioh 2 Remastered – The Complete Edition, and the Nioh Collection, which includes both remastered titles, are set to release on the fourth anniversary of the release of the first title.
Nioh 2 Remastered- The Complete Edition will also include all previous DLC, giving players even more hours of gameplay. The Tengu’s Disciple, Darkness in the Capital, and The First Samurai DLCs add new missions as well as armor, weapons, and enemies.
Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja have released a 14-minute gameplay video of Nioh 2 Complete Edition running on the PlayStation 5. Based on the gameplay footage of Nioh 2, the titles will look and perform extremely smoothly on the PS5. The 14-minute gameplay footage gives fans a taste of how Nioh 2 will look running on 4K resolution and 60 FPS. Throughout the video, fans can see two boss fights and a variety of encounters with an extensive look at the souls-like combat. Fans can also get a look at the customization options including many different weapon loadouts. The gameplay footage shows off a variety of weapon combat with the katana, scythe, double hatchets, fist weapons, and the deadly splitstaff.
The weapon combat looks amazing with the PS5 capabilities, with every movement captured seamlessly. During the gameplay footage, fans will also get to see one of the cinematics before a boss fight, which really shows off the graphical improvements. Nioh 2 is a very immersive RPG with full character customization and many different ways to play so even a 14-minute gameplay video only gives a taste of what players will be able to do throughout the campaign, which can be played solo or online with friends.
As of now, Nioh developer Team Ninja does not have plans to release Nioh 3 and is reportedly not working on another Ninja Gaiden title. However, Nioh director Fumihiko Yasuda has indicated that Team Ninja is working on several projects right now and announcements may come this year. While not much is known about the new projects, it will be interesting to see what games Team Ninja is working on.
For now, fans will only have to wait less than a month to play Nioh Remastered and Nioh 2 Remastered on PC and PS5. Based on the gameplay footage, players will be in for a treat with bloody combat and detailed Japanese environments in 4K and 60 FPS.
Nioh 2 is available to play now on PS4 and launches on Feb 5, 2021, for PS5 and PC.
