Over a month after the Cold War integration, players have had some time to experiment with the new Cold War weapons, sights, and reticles. While most Cold War optics are understandably not as advanced and clean as the Modern Warfare sights, there are a few that stand out as the best in the game.
Avid Warzone players know that there are still a number of issues with the Cold War attachments, including the Cold War sights. Raven has responded to the community, and players expect many of the attachment bugs to be resolved with the other issues plaguing the game before Season 2. Players should use the below attachments and reticles for their guns in Warzone, which are ranked from worst to best.
17 Sillix Holoscout
The Sillix sight is bulky and square, obstructing players’ field of view and making it more difficult to identify enemies. There are several better sights for close to mid range encounters, and the Holoscout is one of, if not the worst Cold War sight in the game.
16 Hawksmoor
Similar to the Sillix, the Hawksmoor optic is just too obstructing. There are far better options for players who would like to use a close to medium range optic. For most players, square optics just simply do not feel good in game.
15 SUSAT Multizoom
The SUSAT Multizoom is not a very good optic. The magnification in the center of the sight’s reticle distorts the view of enemy players. A multizoom from 2x to 4x is pointless, as there are much better optics to use at 2x, 3x, and 4x. For some reason, the optic has a glint at only 2x, which is another negative to using the sight. Avoid using the SUSAT optic and try one of the other options instead.
14 AN/PVS-4 Thermal
While the thermal sight is better than the Modern Warfare thermal optics, it is essentially a gimmick. If a night mode returns to Verdansk or on new map, the sight could be useful.
However, the optic takes up too much of the screen and its low magnification makes it difficult to use in Warzone.
13 Noch Sova Thermal
Many of the thermal sights are just not practical in Warzone, and players still run cold blooded despite the nerf to the Modern Warfare thermal sights. Players should stay away from the thermal optics unless they are sniping at long range. The Noch Sova Thermal is only a 2.3x magnification optic, and is a bottom tier sight in the game.
12 SnapPoint
The SnapPoint is a sub par red dot sight. It is usable, but the square shape of the sight makes it harder to identify enemies and players can choose from a number of better optics.
11 Fastpoint Reflex
Players will notice that the Fastpoint Reflex looks almost identical to the monocle reflex sight from Modern Warfare. Some players may prefer the eccentric sight, but most are better off using a more traditional red dot optic.
10 Kobra Red Dot
The Kobra Red Dot Optic is usable, but there are a few better close range optics to choose from. The fact that the sight is mounted higher than several others makes it one of the worst close range red dot sights.
9 Diamondback Reflex
The Diamondback and the Kobra sight are similar optics to use in close range situations. The sight can be used, but the below sights will be just a fraction better. The base of the sight provides enough of an obstruction and distraction to keep it toward the bottom of the list.
8 Millstop Reflex
The Millstop is a good optic and can be used at close to medium range. Despite the fact that is has a clean sight and is easy to use, the Quickdot and Microflex LED sights are just better.
All of the reflex and red dot sights are best when used with the stock reticle.
7 Royal & Kross 4x
While the 4x sight is helpful when tracking down enemies at long range, the sight zooms in slightly too far. Players will miss enemies in their periphery while trying to take down an opponent at long distances. All of the reticles for the Royal & Kross are usable, but the precision and clean living reticles are the best for the optic.
6 Visiontech 2x
The Visiontech is a versatile and accurate sight that will be preferable in medium to long range gunfights. The sight does have a fair amount of visual recoil, which is the main reason it is not at the top of the list. Players should use the precision or clean living reticles depending on their preference.
5 Microflex LED
The Microflex is the best of the red dot sights and should be used on guns that do not have usable iron sights. The optic does not have any distortion with a very thin frame, which allows players to see more of the map when aiming down sight. Players should use the stock reticle, as the other options are purely aesthetic.
4 Hangman RF
The Hangman RF is another sight that resembles the VLK from Modern Warfare, but with a 6x zoom. The sight is not cluttered with lines and will be a great optic for players that like to extend the ranges of tactical rifles.
3 Vulture Custom Zoom
The Vulture Custom Zoom is a great optic to use on tactical rifles or sniper rifles and the 1x-10x sight makes it quite versatile. The scope appears to be a sniper optic, but it can be used at medium ranges with the tactical rifles. The sight has minimal visual recoil and is viable up to several hundred meters.
2 Axial Arms 3x
Players should use the Axial Arms 3x on any weapon that is kitted for medium to long rage engagements. The optic provides a zoom similar to the VLK 3.0x optic from Modern Warfare and is a comparable sight to use on the Cold War weapons. While there is some visual recoil with the optic, the sight is the best all around to use on assault rifles and LMGs. Players should use the precision reticle.
1 Ultrazoom Custom
The Ultrazoom custom can zoom in up to 20x and it does not produce glint at full magnification. The glitch will probably be fixed in a future update, but for the time being it is extremely broken. Players can snipe from across the map undetected. Warzone players should use the Tundra and Ultrazoom scope, as the Tundra has the highest bullet velocity of all the snipers.
