Hitman 3: How to Get Rid of the Birds | Game Rant

There’s a lot to uncover and master in Hitman 3, with the best missions requiring a mix of stealth and ingenuity. Changing the difficulty can make some paths easier, but won’t help if stuck on certain challenges.

One deceptively simple but frustratingly obtuse challenge in Hitman 3 does not involve guards and security, but rather, birds. Ravens in a graveyard are the major obstacle between players and a successful assassination in the Dartmoor mission, the second mission in the game. Here’s a quick guide to getting rid of the pesky birds while still remaining undetected and free to move about the grounds.

Someone at the manor has been murdered, and they need to be buried. Agent 47 needs to lure one of his targets out of the house to inspect the grave, which leads to an easy kill. However, no one is going to look at anything while the noisy birds are about. Getting rid of them requires being outside in the open, so Dartmoor’s secret switches will be of little use.

One big mistake that players make is taking out their firearms too early. Just because players are disguised as a detective doesn’t mean they can take out guns willy-nilly. But don’t discount them entirely: guns are how to solve the bird problem, just not in the way most players would think of initially. Before the shots start ringing, players should make sure they have a silenced pistol. It wouldn’t do to have the whole household come running when things go down.

Head out to the graveyard to find the birds. They’re not difficult to see: a whole flock of them are wheeling and cawing around some trees while the gardener unsuccessfully tries to pelt them with rocks. Slip past him and crouch down, sneaking around the low brick wall nearby. There’s a break in the wall where one part sticks out further than the rest. Park Agent 47 out of sight there and bring out the silenced pistol.

Don’t aim for the birds, they’re not the real target. Instead, look for their nests up in the trees. There are three of them. Shooting and destroying the nests will cause the birds to leave. Be warned, the gardener will still think something strange is up, even if he doesn’t hear any gunshots, so get out of there quick. The whole thing takes around 10 seconds, almost the same amount of time as the first Hitman 3 mission’s speedrun world record.

Once that’s done, players are free to move on to the next part of the mission. It all builds up to the kind of kill that shows why Hitman 3 had the biggest digital launch in the series history.

Hitman 3 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
