Even though he hasn’t been acting as long as many other actors, Oscar Isaac has built an impressive filmography over the years. He mostly appears in movies of various genres. Superhero fans and Isaac’s fans are even more excited about his upcoming big TV show because of it. Oscar Isaac will play the superhero Moon Knight in the Moon Knight TV show.

As of January 2021, the show remains in pre-production so it will be quite some time before it comes out. It’s supposed to air in 2022 but things may still change, so fans should keep their fingers crossed. The first season should have 6 episodes and it will air on Disney+. But before that happens, Oscar Isaac has played in many interesting movies people should check out.

10 Body Of Lies (2008)

One of Oscar Isaac’s older movies is the action thriller directed by the legendary director Ridley Scott. Its two main heroes both work for the CIA but their jobs are rather different. One of them sits behind a computer and navigates the other’s actions, while the second man faces real danger on a regular basis. Body of Lies stars two well-established actors – Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe. Oscar Isaac plays Bassam in the film, a CIA field operative in Iraq who works with Leonardo DiCaprio’s hero Roger Ferris.

9 Robin Hood (2010)

Action films don’t need to take place in current times – they can just as well happen in the past. Robin Hood leads the audience back into the 13th century. Oscar Isaac once again worked with director Ridley Scott and with Russell Crowe who portrayed Robin. Robin has a difficult task ahead of him – he not only wants Lady Marian (Cate Blanchett) to fall for him but he needs to stop civil war happening in England. Oscar Isaac plays the weak prince John who lost most of his lands to other rulers.

8 Sucker Punch (2011)

It’s time to look at the fantasy genre. Moon Knight will also work with fantasy elements. And just like this film, it might toy with the minds of its heroes. Sucker Punch focuses on a young girl, Babydoll (Emily Browning) who ends up in a mental institute. However, the place might not be what it seems to be. The film makes it hard for the viewer to find the difference between reality and fantasy. That’s something Moon Knight sometimes struggles with. Oscar Isaac plays the main antagonist of the film, and his performance is, as ever, worth watching.

7 Inside Llewyn Davis (2013)

Even though Inside Llewyn Davis belongs to a different genre than Moon Knight, no Oscar Isaac fan should miss it. It’s one of his most extraordinary leading roles to date. The Coen brothers, Joel and Ethan, have a unique directing style that separates their films from most modern productions.

Oscar Isaac plays an ambitious and talented folk musician, Llewyn Davis, who hasn’t had much luck just yet. He’s hoping to turn things around but it’s unclear whether it will happen or not. Every person who has ever had a dream they wanted to achieve might find this film intriguing.

6 Ex Machina (2014)

Ex Machina is the film that definitely put Oscar Isaac on the map. It also proved that a good sci-fi film doesn’t need extraordinary locations, a large number of actors, or big, flashy action scenes. Ex Machina is a sci-fi about three people – a young man, an inventor, and a robot. It stars Alicia Vikander as the robot Ava, Domhnall Gleeson, and, of course, Oscar Isaac as the man responsible for Ava’s creation. The film has a lot to offer and manages to surprise the audience on more than one occasion.

5 Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens (2015)

The highly popular Star Wars franchise is a golden ticket to stardom for many actors who appear in it. It’s iconic and has millions of fans. Whether the viewers prefer the original Star Wars movies or the newer ones, the series still draws people in. This film presented an attempt to rejuvenate the franchise, and it worked out perfectly. TV shows such as The Mandalorian owe their existence to this movie. Oscar Isaac plays Poe Dameron, a Resistance X-wing fighter pilot, who, according to Isaac himself, is the best pilot in the galaxy.

4 X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)

Speaking of popular franchises, it would be a mistake to leave out X-Men from this list. Moon Knight won’t be the first time Oscar Isaac will dip his toes into Marvel comics. Even though, unlike his character in this film, Moon Knight is mostly a good guy.

Oscar Isaac often plays antagonists, and in X-Men: Apocalypse, he portrayed the titular villain. His Apocalypse is a thousands-of-years-old mutant who wants to take over the world. Fighting him is no laughing matter, and the heroes will have to do their best to have a shot at defeating him.

3 Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse (2018)

It started with one Marvel superhero franchise and it continues with another. Even though Oscar Isaac only has a small part in the film, it’s still an excellent animated superhero film worth watching. Young Miles Morales becomes Spider-Man and has to save the world. Luckily for him, he won’t have to do it all by himself. Other versions of Spider-Men will help him. The film got the Academy Award for the best-animated film in 2019. Oscar Isaac can congratulate himself for playing another iconic superhero – he voiced Miguel O’Hara, Spider-Man of the year 2099.

2 Annihilation (2018)

Oscar Isaac is one of the actors who regularly work with the same directors multiple times. Besides Ridley Scott, he also took a part in another Alex Garland’s film after Ex Machina. It’s once again a sci-fi film, and once again an unusual one. A new strange ecosystem appears on Earth and a biologist (Natalie Portman) goes there to explore it. She wants to find out what happened to her husband, played by Oscar Isaac, who disappeared.

1 The Addams Family (2019)

One of Oscar Isaac’s latest movies is the animated version of the popular Addams family. This time, this extraordinary family will try to lead friendly relationships with their neighbors, but that’s easier said than done. Oscar Isaac voiced the part of Gomez Addams, the father of the family. Anybody who enjoys dark humor could find the film enjoyable as well since it’s different from a large number of animated movies.
