Monster Hunter Rise Showcases New Palamute Armor | Game Rant

The demo of Capcom’s Monster Hunter Rise is currently live on the Nintendo eShop and will be there until the end of January 2021. With players still experiencing first-hand the new features of the upcoming game through the demo, Monster Hunter Rise‘s development team adds fuel to the excitement by recently posting a short video of some new Palamute armor designs.

Monster Hunter Rise‘s Palamutes are one of the most anticipated features of the game. Even though the series continues to provide new monsters to hunt in every iteration, fans probably felt a different sort of excitement when Capcom decided to include canines as hunting companions in the game. And with Palamutes providing new quirks and activities, such as being able to be petted or react to their hunter’s emotes, fans are likely eager to see just how their Palamutes will look when donning the armor made from harvested monster materials.

In a recent post on the Monster Hunter Rise official Twitter account, the development team shared a short video that showcased six brand-new Palamute armor and one brand-new Palico armor. Fans who pay keen attention to detail will most likely notice that these armor designs are based from the monsters that were officially revealed in the recent Monster Hunter Rise digital event.

Showcased in the video were Palamute gear that paid homage to the familiar features of monsters such as the Lagombi, Khezu, Great Baggi, Tigrex, and Barioth. All of these monsters were confirmed to be part of the ecology of the game’s new area, the Frost Islands. As they go through the video, fans will likely feel some nostalgia when they see the fluffy pom-poms from the Lagombi armor, the orange and blue scales from the Tigrex gear, and the white rubber-like texture of the Khezu equipment.

However, one distinct armor set that was also showcased in the clip is from Monster Hunter Rise‘s new monster, the Goss Harag. The development team not only included what the Goss Harag armor would look like on a Palamute, but they also shared a shot of what the Palico gear would look like when equipped, just to emphasize the uniqueness of the set.

There are still some on the MH Rise monster list whose Palico or Palamute gear have not been given any special attention yet. These include the Tetranodon, Bishaten, and Somnacanth, among others. Hopefully the devs will also share these monsters’ Palamute and Palico gear designs with the fans, just to give them a glimpse of what’s to come when the game fully launches later on.

Monster Hunter Rise will be released on March 26, 2021 for the Nintendo Switch.
