Since its release, Genshin Impact has given players a fair amount of content to play through. While the game now bears multiple large regions, and has confirmed plans for further additions, even its launch version boasted Mondstadt and Liyue, two massive territories.
With the large sections of the continent of Teyvat to explore, travelers now have plenty of monsters, treasures, and amazing sites to uncover in Genshin Impact. And while many players might keep general track of their important stats and discoveries, the game’s developer miHoYo has made a habit of releasing a series of fun-fact-filled newsletters known as the Teyvat Times.
The original issue of the Teyvat Times was released in late 2020, with two other issues following in the weeks after. Each one thus far has offered more than a handful of interesting facts about the game, and more specifically, the game’s players. To make the Teyvat Times stand out, miHoYo makes use of specific player data to identify unique and engaging facts, such as the number of players who are cruel to Mondstadt’s Timmie and his pigeons. The fourth issue is no different, though it does come with one caveat: Issue No.4 is the final issue of the Teyvat Times.
As official posts claim, “Paimon hopes to have the chances to share more fun stories[…] in the future,” so players should take the “final” with a grain of salt. That said, for this issue, Paimon gives players a look at some stats pertaining to the newly introduced Dragonspine region, as well as a look at how players acted during three of the game’s most recent events. Moreover, it gives some bonus info on the Unusual Hilichurl enemy, sheds light on players’ interactions with in-game lightning, and even spotlights two specific Travelers.
It seems that one Traveler in particular took a whopping 7 hours to travel from Mondstadt’s Stormbearer Point to Liyue Harbor. Another Traveler was featured in this issue for successfully walking (not running) from Mondstadt City to Liyue Harbor in 87 minutes. Paimon herself notes their amazing “courage and determination” in the Times.
Aside from this, it seems that players have been having some electrifying fun earning the Wrath of the Gods title, as over 1 million Travelers have been struck by lightning. Unsurprisingly, only a much smaller group of roughly 6,000 has been struck by lightning twice, with even fewer people (~2,400) having been killed by lightning. With regard to Dragonspine, it seems that the region still isn’t as populated as other areas of the game. Just under 200,000 players have lit bonfires in the region, which means that either lots of folks aren’t avoiding death by Sheer Cold, or that most Travelers are still steering clear of Dragonspine.
To cap off the final issue of Teyvat Times, miHoYo provides Travelers with some final numbers regarding the game’s recent events. Interestingly enough, just about half of the participants claimed the yellow pet Mini Seelie, Curcuma, after the Lost Riches event. Only 15 percent chose the blue pet, Dayflower. During the Gliding Challenge, over 2.5 million Travelers fell out of the sky, with nearly double the amount of Travelers helping Teyvat’s restaurants safely deliver food during the While It’s Warm Event.
Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for PS5 and Switch.
