For its one-year anniversary, Journey to the Savage Planet was brought to Steam with a discount after its exclusivity with Epic Games Store ended.
Journey to the Savage Planet was developed by Typhoon Studios, a studio founded by a group of former Ubisoft employees who worked on games like Far Cry 4 and Assassin’s Creed 3. Savage Planet was Typhoon’s first project, which opened to generally positive reviews among critics. While it released for PS4 and Xbox One as well, in terms of its PC version, it was an Epic Games Store exclusive. But now that its exclusivity deal has ended, Journey to the Savage Planet is available on Steam as well, and at a discounted price for the next few days.
Typhoon’s debut game is a first-person adventure game that tasks players with exploring a colorful planet dubbed ARY-26 and surveying the life on it. It’s somewhere between No Man’s Sky and Bugsnax, but with a survival-shooter twist to it. The game’s premise is simple, and players have probably heard it before as well: the protagonist’s ship is damaged during landing and they need to gather resources to fix it. In this action-adventure game, players will catalog flora and fauna whilst fighting off more hostile lifeforms on the planet.
Following a successful launch, Journey to the Savage Planet released its Hot Garbage DLC, which added new tools such as jetpacks and underwater boots, as well as a waterfront resort called DL-C1. And Typhoon’s exploration game can be played in co-op mode, so with the Steam discount of 40%, friends can explore the vibrant, mysterious planet for an affordable price of $17.99.
Journey to the Savage Planet is available on PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One.
