Not every bug or glitch in Cyberpunk 2077 are created equal, and some are less game breaking, instead creating hilarious situations that make each player’s experience with the game unique. In the latest case of interesting mishaps, one player was given an ability that anyone who romanced the character Rogue would likely want to have be less bug and more feature.
Fortunately for the player who found the glitch, a redditor who goes by The_Cluster01, this happened during the end of a 100% run of Cyberpunk 2077, so it shouldn’t have been an issue for any progress. In fact, it was while the player was looking for things to do after completing the game that they gave Rogue a call and at first noticed what appeared to be an audio glitch coming from the phone.
For this glitch, instead of calling Rogue and having a conversation with the character from a distance, the game instead teleported her directly to the player’s location. What seemed to be an audio glitch was the game player Rogue’s dialogue twice, once through the normal phone mechanic , and a second time from the character model that had warped into position when the call was placed. The result is somewhat surreal at first with the duplicate voice, and then instantly becomes hilarious as the player realizes that Cyberpunk 2077‘s newest bug cut out the middle man of the phone and teleported the character instantly.
As far as bugs go, this one isn’t exactly game breaking, at it looks like the player had made it all the way through the game before running into it in the first place. However, the implication of being able to transport characters across Night City in an instant could open up for some amount of chaos by bringing certain characters together. Being granted agency over characters like Rogue is a bit of an extra step on Cyberpunk 2077‘s power fantasy that lets the player mod themselves into the ultimate killing machine, taking the player all the way to deific status.
Catching the funny ways Cyberpunk 2077 breaks itself has become a bit of a pastime for fans, especially those still waiting for the previous gen fixes to come in and make the game playable on PS4 and Xbox One. So, it’s always funny to find something as innocuous as a teleporting Rogue that does little more than break the immersion and show the hiccups that are happening under the hood. Granted, not every glitch is created equally, and for every charming little blemish that players poke fun at, there are still more being discovered that range from frustrating to game breaking that need to be dealt with.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions in development.
