One of the most underdeveloped aspects of Cyberpunk 2077 is its melee combat mechanic. There are so many things that were shown in the game’s various trailers prior to its release that didn’t make it to the actual game, including several melee mechanics.
Be that as it may, the game does contain a couple of very decent melee weapons that players can use to tackle the various enemies they’ll encounter in and around Night City. Depending on whether or not they can handle melee gameplay properly, these weapons can indeed prove very handy, if not simply provide a very cool aesthetic to V.
11 Caretaker’s CyberSpade
The Caretaker’s CyberSpade is a two-handed iconic melee weapon. This weapon has very high base damage. It is also decent in dealing physical damage, critical damage, and it increases bleeding chance while reducing stamina cost reduction.
The weapon is located near a tree during the Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door mission. The weapon is a reference to the Caretaker, a boss found in The Witcher 3, a game also made by CD Projekt Red.
10 Cocktail Stick
The Cocktail Stick is an iconic katana. Upon initial glance, the katana’s plain purple color makes it appear like a decoration piece, but it, in fact, cuts wonderfully. The weapon has high base damage, helpful in slashing down opponents left and right. The weapon increases its user’s physical damage, critical damage, and bleeding chance.
The Cocktail Stick can be obtained while playing the Automatic Love mission. It is located in the make-up room of the Clouds club on the upstairs level.
9 Cottonmouth
Cottonmouth is an iconic blunt melee weapon. It is classified as an Electric Baton Gamma and deals electrical and chemical damage. It also increases critical damage, poison chance, and shock chance, while reducing stamina cost reduction.
The weapon can be found during The Space in Between main mission. It is located inside Finger’s clinic.
8 Jinchu-maru
The Jinchu-maru is an iconic katana. This weapon is the purest essence of how a katana should function. No bells and whistles, just plain sharp and cold steel. The katana is better paired with the Kerenzikov implant. While that is active, the Jinchu-maru’s critical chance will increase to an astounding 100%.
The weapon can be obtained during the Play it Safe main mission. It belongs to Sandayu Oda and he will drop it off after he is defeated.
7 Gold-Plated Baseball Bat
Gold-Plated Baseball Bat is an iconic melee weapon. This two-handed club has a high physical damage output. It will also increase its user’s bleeding chance by 50%. Despite being a bat, this weapon has a low chance of stunning enemies.
The Gold-Plated Baseball Bat belongs to Denny, Johnny Silverhand‘s bandmate from Samurai. The weapon can be found in the pool located in Denny’s villa during the Second Conflict mission.
6 Satori
The Satori is an iconic katana. While the katana has reduced base damage, it does have a very high critical damage multiplier. The Satori is the property of Saburo Arasaka, the CEO of the Arasaka Corporation. It is an antique katana that was forged in the early 20th century, but it is still as sharp as the day it was created.
The weapon can be found during The Heist mission. It is located inside the chopper on the AV landing pad.
5 Scalpel
The Scalpel iconic melee weapon is called as such because it apparently cuts with surgical precision. This weapon deals electrical damage, chemical damage, physical damage, thermal damage, and electrical damage. It is best paired with a Sandevistan cyberware. Once that implant is active, the weapon will increase the critical chance by 50% and attacks will incorporate a bleeding status.
It can be earned as a reward for completing the Big in Japan mission.
4 Stinger
The Stinger melee weapon is an iconic knife. It deals an enormous amount of physical damage and also has a slight chance of applying poison to the enemies. The weapon itself may be smaller than the other melee weapons, but it can cut through flesh with absolute ease.
The weapon used to belong to a man named Scorpion, a nomad member of the Aldecaldos clan. It can be obtained as a reward for completing the I’ll Fly Away side job.
3 Sir John Phallustiff
Who said gag weapons are not a thing anymore? Cyberpunk 2077 will surely prove them wrong with this weapon. Sir John Phallustiff is an iconic melee weapon and a reskinned Electric Baton Gamma. Instead of an average baton, the weapon looks like…well, it’s something the players will have to see for themselves.
The weapon can be acquired during the Venus in Furs mission. To get this mission, players will have to cooperate with a character in the game named Stout during The Pickup mission.
2 Tinker Bell
Tinker Bell is an iconic Electric Baton Gamma. It has low base damage, but it has generous electrical damage, critical damage, and shock damage. The weapon also has a chance of stunning the enemies once hit.
Tinker Bell can be acquired during The Hunt mission with River Ward. It is located inside a hidden room in Peter Pan’s farmhouse. The players will only have one chance to get this weapon as the farmhouse will be bordered up once the mission is finished.
1 Tsumetogi
Tsumetogi is an iconic katana. This melee weapon deals electrical damage, increases critical chance, critical damage, and has a slight chance of applying shock to opponents. It will also increase its user’s electrical resistance.
The weapon can be acquired during the Pisces side job. This mission only becomes available once the player follows through Judy’s line of missions. Once they reach the Pisces mission, this weapon can be looted from the room with Maiko and the Tyger Claw bosses.
