Apex Legends players are usually quick to discover the new glitches that come with brand new patches and gameplay tweaks. Considering Apex Legends Season 8 just kicked off, there are bound to be a handful of new glitches and exploits hidden within the game that will need to be patched out eventually.
Now, players on Reddit are reporting a brand new glitch that seems to replicate one of Fuse’s abilities, allowing players to stack thermite grenades in any Legend’s inventory. However, this glitch might be relegated solely to Apex Legends‘ Firing Range, as Respawn has responded that it is already working on a fix for the glitch.
According to one Reddit user going by the name Zikudoari, a friend of theirs was able to perform this glitch during a match and sent them a picture of their screen. Of course, Apex Legends is no stranger to glitches that are mostly harmless, but if players could stack multiple grenades during a match it would prove to be incredibly unfair. Fortunately, it seems as if this glitch was simply reproduced in the Firing Range and not in an actual match, as Respawn’s Reddit support account expressed confusion at how they were able to replicate it. Shortly afterwards, another Reddit user was adamant the screenshot showed blurry background images of the Firing Range and not King’s Canyon.
It seems that this glitch may result from one of the abilities of the new Legend, Fuse. Fuse’s passive allows him to stack additional grenades in his inventory slots and throw them much farther then other Legends. Considering the glitch replicates this same ability to a greater extent, it wouldn’t be a stretch to assume the two are linked. Thankfully, Respawn is aware of the glitch and is already working on a fix to take it out of the game according to their reply on Reddit.
Respawn is usually fairly quick when it comes to patching glitches out of Apex Legends, especially if they prove to be game breaking. In the full Season 8 patch notes, Respawn fixed a good chunk of the glitches that remained in the game after the latest patch. Unfortunately, it’s very difficult to stay on top of each and every glitch hidden inside the game, especially with a live-service games like Apex Legends. Hopefully, Respawn is able to implement the fix sooner rather than later.
Though, if the glitch is indeed only relegated to the Firing Range, it really isn’t all too urgent to patch out. It’s worth noting that with the Apex Legends Anniversary Collection Event coming on February 9, the thermite glitch may be patched out then. Additionally, there will be further updates down the line, like the leaked Caustic Town Takeover event, which should allow Respawn to patch out any other glitches and exploits that may crop up in the meantime.
Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and will release for the Switch on March 9.
